Back to Working Out

It has been a while but this time I had finally decided to hit the gym again. It was an instantaneous decision last Monday as it was a holiday and I got a vacant afternoon to spend. It had crossed my mind several times in the past weeks while seeing some friends in my Facebook newsfeed getting fit, thinner and healthy. I always reason out that I am busy and that I had lot of things to do.

One major why I decided to come back is because of the sickly and sleepy feeling I had and in effect, gives me the lack of motivation to go to the office. I do walk sometimes but only on short distances, and I felt that I could not run long enough. I remembered one time that I decided to do an evening jog and it was a heavier feeling than last time. My legs and thighs hurt for days after that.  It seemed that working out would be my best option.

It was a good thing that there was a gym nearby and is just outside the Barangay where my boarding house is located. I always pass by that spot whenever I go to the laundry shop and this time I was able to check the place. It was on the second floor and somewhat cramped but there is a lot of gym equipment available. I also checked the monthly membership to be only 500 for a regular one. That is quite cheap and is 200 less than the one I had in the previous gym that I frequently visit. I then decided to subscribe for one month. There were only about three people working out that time since it was past 1:00pm. I’d expect more would arrive in the late afternoon.

I started small while remembering my routines from last time for the chest, biceps, triceps and a little on my legs and feet. My weights’ range was from 15-25 lbs. After an hour and a half, I was already feeling the exhaustion and muscle pains but it was a good feeling to sweat it out almost non-stop. My main towel was somewhat soaking with all those sweat. I felt that all of my body’s impurities were coming out.

I then realized through it all that I was a good decision to be back.
