Thursday MTG Thoughts

I have been swamped with work this week that I forgot to do any deck tech or news blog post on Magic: the Gathering. Another reason is a stagnant Standard metagame, even with an update on Mardu vehicles

having Walking Ballista in its lineup. Meh, an ‘upgrade’.

Anyhow, it was the start of the Modern Masters 2017 Previews this week and the card reprints revealed so far are very very good. The notable mythics are: Griselbrand, Liliana of the Veil, upgraded from rare Snapcaster Mage, Bonfire of the Damned, and Entreat the Angels. As for the rares, the reprint of Damnation and the enemy fetch lands is already enough to suffice the set’s value. If you are a starter or just building your deck in the Modern format, you might want to buy a box to upgrade your wares and sell those cards you won’t use. We will see in the coming days what else they would add to the MM3 set.

I am glad to share the news that we will be playing again in Robinson Place Jaro for a weekend of Standard and Duel Commander this month of March. The details are to be posted soon and I hope Rob will again sponsor some prizes, like gift checks and discount coupons.

Let us wrap this up for now and I’ll get back to my data input task. Until the next post.
