I am pretty much occupied with work and website projects lately and rushing to beat the deadlines. With that, expect lesser update on this blog and will probably stick with Standard deck tech posts for the meantime. The list was piloted by Alexander Kornilov and finished Top 8 in the Odessa Open 2016 last August 21st.

The Standard Grand Prix at Portland closed out with a win from the Delirium deck archetype. The winner. Robert Santana, played a Jund or Green Black Red version which looks to be of a midrange deck type but has a late game plan of tutoring for Emrakul, the Promised End. He defeated the crowd favorite Travis Woo, two games to none.

Something I have pondered while reading an article at the Grand Prix Portland coverage page. Fevered Visions based decks has risen in popularity lately as the deck to beat Ramp archetypes. I have generated a version with Black Red Madness as the core component with Blue splash for the said enchantment.

Last weekend’s major MtG happening was the Pro Tour Eldritch Moon which was held in Sydney, Australia. The PT Trophy was claimed by Czech Pro Lukas Blohon, playing Black White Control. It was somewhat an epic Finals as he faced the newly minted Player of the Year Owen Turtenwald which was piloting a Temur version of Emerge and Emrakul. Lukas defeated Owen three games to none.

One of the less-deck choice from the recent Starcity Games Standard Open last weekend that did finished in the Top 32 was this build by Dan Jessup. He decided to go all-White despite of the variance of the two-color decks in the format. Here is his version of Big White which he finished to a 22nd place in the tournament.

The current major Standard tournament this weekend is the Starcity Games Open at Baltimore and one of the deck tech feature in this event is the Green Black Delirium played by Robert Wright. The deck’s main strategy is to benefit from self-mill effects by Delirium and creatures that comes back from the graveyard like Deathmist Raptor.

The latest Standard deck archetypes after Eldritch Moon became legal to play saw the usual Bant Company and Green White tokens as the top decks. However, one deck has emerged to somewhat challenge the current metagame. It was piloted by the pro player Ali Aintrazi and he finished second place in the SCG Standard Open in Columbus. It is quite late to share this info because of my somewhat busy schedules these past few days but I am still sharing this with you guys. I have come up with the decklist while checkin an article at the Channel Fireball website regarding the top Standard cards that will become popular once Eldritch Moon becomes legal to play.

Yesterday’s Eldritch Moon Prerelease here in Iloilo City, specifically at Rei’s Place, was quite jam packed as 36 players attended to experience firsthand the cards from the newest Magic: the Gathering set. This Saturday will held the scheduled Eldritch Moon Prerelease of the Magic: the Gathering Iloilo Community. It will be a special Sealed format as Prerelease kits will be provided and from the opened cards will provide the components for the construction the decks. The event will have 36 participants, ready to battle and experience the gameplay of the cards from this latest MtG set.
