A Reddit User posted this deck idea of a Mono-Blue Mill archetype for Standard post-release of GRN. I have known before of this strategy utilizing the Blue and Black colors. A teammate built this deck in Modern but the access to more powerful cards made it very effective in most of its matchups. In the current Standard format, we shall check which card components can be added. We start with the core Blue cards Psychic Corrosion and the new card Drowned Secrets. I have thought of not only utilizing Guild-based color for a deck build but having a third color which is in accordance to that of the times of the Khans or the Shards of Alara. Surely it will not be on the same power level but then we have new card components in Guild of Ravnica to work with.

Last night, I have talked with my teammate and fellow Iloilo Judge Oliver of a deck build he called as Abzan Knights. It was described as a tribal Knights deck using the colors Green, White, and Black. The given information we have is that Dominaria printed Knights for White (Knight of Grace) and Black (Knight of Malice) and even had a Legendary Knight for that multicolor Aryel, Knight of WIndgrace. The relevant Enchantment here is History of Benalia. With the access to Green, we can have Selesnya to support this build with notables such as Knight of Autumn. For the mana fixing, we can have Unclaimed Territory named to Knight along with the shocklands Overgrown Tomb and Temple Garden.

I have to come up with a list just yet but we already have the idea with the inclusion of the cards mentioned above. We are also sure that the best card of the set, Assassin’s Trophy, will be its primary spot removal along with Vraska’s Contempt or another cheaper cost spell.

We shall see how it will go by this week.

One of the five guilds in the upcoming Guilds of Ravnica set, Izzet, is determined to again set ablaze the Standard format with the new card components. One of which is Firemind’s Research, a new and enticing enchantment that supports the concept of draw-and-burn strategy.
