It has been a long time, maybe years since I last built a Gunpla kit. I had retired from the hobby, disposed my unbuilt kits and a few of my tools. Financial constraints might be my major reason but I think the lackluster part of Gunpla building has consumed me. I may look at released Gunpla kits from time to time but that does not seem to excite me now. That is until is I saw the preview pics of the MG Deathscythe Hell to be released by Dragon Momoko.

As a 90s kid, I grew up watching Gundam Wing as my first Gunpla series and got enticed by the five major character and their mobile suits and since then was a fan. Seeing this version of the Gundam Deathscythe has given me an insight and a reason to purchase and build a Gunpla kit again. Time might be a factor for me now but having a snap build is good and satisfying already. Anyhow, here below are some of the preview pics published at the Dragon Momoko FB page.

The sleek design can make us conclude that this kit has surpassed the original build of the Deathscythe. Let us just be wary though of possible loose or not connecting parts given that it is a third-party released kit.

I had already placed my reservation for the preorder at my local hobby store and the owner said that the possible price would be around P1300 to P1400. The final price are to be posted.

We will see how this goes once the kit arrives and maybe I can publish an unboxing post again to scale the quality of the parts.

The other Gunpla kit I have bought from Hobby Link Japan when they held one of their recent sales was the BB #172 Gouken Gundam Kirahagane Gokusai (Released June 2010). Its list price was at 1000 yen but went on sale at a 65% discount and was priced at 350 yen or at around 175php. I ordered the kit via a friend’s recommendation that it can transform from its mini version to a sort of a High Grade version.

The kit’s box is short to the box size of a HG 1/144 Gundam Wing kit and there are only three runners. The challenge is that most of the designs are sticker-based so masking and painting might be my solution. Here are the pics of the unboxing of the BB #172 Gouken Gundam Kirahagane Gokusai.

So I finally get to hold of this kit which I ordered from HLJ months ago via Dexter’s shipment transaction. The kit was the Hardygun MS RGM III and this was one of the kits listed in one of their regular on sale items, though at that time it was low on stock. When the order was placed, the kit is now unavailable so it had to be reserved and added once the new stocks arrived. Fortunately it has, and the kit arrived a month ago which I did not paid for immediately due to lack of funds.

Anyhow, everything is now settled so let us go to the unboxing pics. See it on the gallery below.

This will be added to the ‘For commission’ list of a colleague who is skilled enough to paint this old school type of kit. I just have to wait two months for him to completely recover from CTS.

It has been about a month since I last posted about Gundam and plamo stuff & which the burnout from the hobby was the primary cause. Anyhow I will try to get you guys updated as possible when I get the urge to build my pending kits again. For now, this post will be the unboxing of the 1/100 Scale Master Grade RX-93 NU Gundam by Daban Model. I bought this kit last April at around 1450php from Raphael Gundam, an online plamo seller. It is one of recent kit releases from the third party brand, and though if you can afford the original, I would suggest it over this one.

The box looks bigger in the actual because of the extra set of funnels and its stand. Here are the unboxing pics, with shots of the runners and the manual.

So yeah, I am back on track again in building the Gunpla kits as the Game day weekend has been concluded. Browsing through the current work projects, I’ve decided to finish the beam rifle of the HG RGM Jesta which is the only thing left to complete the build. First, here are some shots as I assembled the components of the mobile suit.

As for the beam rifle, what I did was fill the panel lines first with Tamiya Panel Accent Color Black and then highlighted these small circles with a Silver paint marker. The last done was the sticker for the scope and then top coated the parts with Bosny Flat Clear.

The first picture below was after the panel wash was done. Second one was the final look of the rifle after top coat.

There is again recent online fuzz about the never ending standoff between bootleg kits and that of Bandai. This started when a Bandai executive posted in Facebook that Gunpla = Bandai and that the other third party kits are not of worthy to be called Gunpla.

After that raised discussions and debates in various Gundam FB groups about which side is correct. I think one of the reasons why this topic has been raised again is because of this recent kit from Dragon Momoko. The kit was the Master Grade Tallgeese III which people say is a breakout kit for the third-party producers as because Bandai has not yet officially released this one.

Checking some explanations and post of a few Gunpla bloggers, I’d say that bootleg is still bootleg however people describe it and they would not exist if not for Bandai. Buying these type of kits is not really a sin but prioritizing Bandai kit at times as a support to the company is a good way. What is important here is we enjoy the hobby of building these kits, no matter what the brand is.

Anyhow going back, the kit Master Grade Tallgeese III costed me around 850php without adding to the shipping cost as it was included in the package haul in Divisoria by JayR’s brother. Here is a box cover photo of the kit.

The effort of the design is clearly revealed here, a plus that got me excited on building this kit. There is no definite plan of the build yet, so most likely it will be another straightforward and standard build.

The weather is still unfavorable to paint up to today so I will just stick to Gunpla unboxing post for now. For this post, the feature kit will be the High Grade 1/144 scale Guntank from the Universal Century line. I bought this at around 450php (a discounted price) from Wasabi Toys last December.

I’ve checked on a few reviews of this kit on Google and found interesting features despite being only a High Grade kit. Unto to the unboxing pics:

I am just excited to share it to you guys, that I was able to buy one of my target kits for this month. If you remember from my previous post, I’ve listed this kit to my buylist for January and I was very happy when I found out that the local store finally have this one on stock.

The Gunpla kit is the Master Grade 1/100 scale Tallgeese II by Daban Model. It was priced at 980php which I just bought by credit first and will pay it by tomorrow lol. Anyhow, I will just be sharing the box of the kit and next up will be the unboxing of this recent release from Daban Model. Stay tuned.

Happy 2014 to you guys! May we have more Gunpla kits to purchase and build on this year. I am also hoping that Bandai would decide to lower their kit’s prices starting this year, lol. It’s somewhat impossible but what the heck, we can’t predict the future right?

Anyhow, going here back in the city after celebrating New Year’s Eve at home, I’ve decided to have a short build of one of my pending backlog kits. What I mean of short is that the kit is an SD kit of the 00 Qant from Gundam 00 series. It is a bootleg kit I bought ‘last year’ so it is not officially named Gundam, but termed as ‘Warrior’. Hence, it’s shown in the box cover.

The kit has a total of three major runners and a fourth one for stand.

The stickers, which is not that impressive and the only thing that give detail to most SD kits.

After a few moments of removing parts from the runners and cleaning the nub marks,

I’ve started adding the stickers to the green clear part for the eyes and did a test fit of the head.

The major issue with most clear parts is the remaining nub marks that still appear after it’s trimmed. You can notice it here on this clear green part of the Qant sword.

The weather got a bit cloudy this late afternoon so my painting of the parts got postponed to tomorrow morning.

One of the upcoming kits to release from the third party manufacturers or popularly known as bootlegs is the High Grade 1/144 scale Rezel. The company to release is Daban Model, who just recently had MG Tallgeese I on its line of kits. Preview images have been published from Dachong, you can check after the cut.

It seems that I am spending more on Gunpla lately, even with the weekly contributions for the MtG card pool. It’s not that I am done with my kits backlogs yet, but the Gunpla releases for the month are just too tempting. Also, there is the restock of the kits included in my previous buy list just like this recent haul.

I would know if there’s a new arrival of kits from Wasabi Toys because of the email subscription. Just last week’s kit arrivals, I’ve checked that they have restocked the HG RX-75 Guntank so I’ve decided to buy the kit this time.

I placed the order by Monday and paid the kit via Paypal Tuesday. I expected the kit to arrive Thursday but unfortunately, Xend Express was not express enough. The store just informed me Friday that Xend had just picked up the item on that Thursday, and I should be expecting it to arrive here Saturday. That was an additional two more days of waiting, which somewhat pissed me off.

Anyway, enough of this rant. Here is the package:

For another Gunpla kit unboxing blog post, the kit for today is the HG Gundam Geminass 01 of the Gundam Wing G –Unit series. This kit was bought last September which was sort of a month ender haul and an addition for my collection of 90s Gunpla kits.
