As the calendar turned to 2025, I found myself swept up in the whirlwind of life, leaving little time to sit down and reflect in a blog post. The start of the new year brought with it a surge of responsibilities—both personal and professional—that demanded my full attention. Between juggling academic requirements for my 1st semester of the Masters course, reconnecting with my hobbies during the holidays, and setting my own goals for the year ahead, I barely had a moment to pause.

While I had every intention of penning a thoughtful post about new beginnings and fresh opportunities, life, as it often does, had other plans. Despite the busyness and I seemed to have adapted to the Korean lifestyle of “pali pali” here in Seoul, I’ve embraced the chaos with gratitude. Yes, I am grateful.

It’s been a season of growth, meaningful connections, and learning to prioritize what truly matters. Although I missed the chance to post my usual reflections (maybe without enough inspiration to do so), I’m excited to bring that energy into my writing moving forward. The new year is still fresh, and I’m looking forward to sharing my thoughts, stories, and insights along with the usual Magic: the Gathering strategies & updates with all of you in the weeks to come.

As we wrap up another year, we recall and reminisce the things most importantly relevant to us and our loved ones. All the experiences, whether good or bad, are remembered and learned upon.

The year 2018 was somewhat hectic for me because of activities in the Magic: the Gathering community as well as in my studies on Urban Planning at UP Visayas. The former because I was able to attend and participate in the two major MTG events here in the Philippines: the Magic Judge conference and the Philippine Nationals 2018. The Nationals was a major achievement for me as a Magic Judge because covering on 600+ players in a tournament is no joke. Experience-wise, it was a major boost.

That was also the last year on the Diploma on Urban and Regional Planning course. We were able to wrap up two semesters and one summer class in a year and thankfully, we survived. Good job classmates on Batch Calyx.

As we face 2019, I hope that our decisions will be wiser and our experiences to be bolder. That is in a good way, lol.

As we end the year 2017, each of us reminisces and remember all of the opportunities that we have received for the year, and take the lesson from the bad memories. 2017 can be memorable for some and is surely a learning experience for most of us.

Mine’s significant event would be the chance to be of public service to the people of Iloilo city. Joining the City Planning and Development office has opened a new but unfamiliar environment. It was foreign for me to perform the functions and had difficulty understanding each of the attended seminars, workshops and meetings. It also became a challenge for me to cope up and that was started with self-studying and later on enrolling in an urban planning course. As I learn each planning step, I am hoping to reiterate the knowledge and contribute to the office in the formulation and development of the plans and programs for the city’s progress and the betterment of the Ilonggos.

So it is just a few hours to go and we all bid goodbye to 2013. This year has been a roller coaster ride, with a few of major ups and downs. Anyhow, it was another productive year, with learned lessons to keep in mind.

Here is a little review of my year 2013:

-Made two top 4s in the World Magic Cup Qualifiers for PH.

-Top 8 in a few Magic Game Day tournaments.

-Played my first Limited Grand Prix in Hong Kong.

-Built a lot of Gunpla kits, trying to shift to the Master Grade line but can’t get enough of the High Grades.

-finally found a Gunpla group that is consistently fun and at the same time got me to learn lot of things in the Gunpla hobby.

-was about to join a Zaku build challenge but came up short because of:

-Gf broke up with me (so far this was the major blunder of the year)

-learned a lot of SEO stuff from one of my recent clients but worked for only a few months. I am hoping for more clients to stay longer next year.

To conclude, I’m going to say good bye to 2013 and say hello and welcome 2014.
