I somewhat reminded myself that I had another Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Set Booster box opened about a week ago, and this box was from the second batch of orders from my favorite LGS in Manila: the UltraElectroMagnetic Shop by Boss Ceasar Famorcan.

Even with the product delays, I was still longing to open more booster packs of the set with the goal of searching the good cards in their foil or borderless versions. That is either Boseiju, Who Endures, or The Wandering Emperor. I got a few lucky pulls of that land but I still hoping to open the Emperor on a booster pack. Such is trying my luck like that on a lottery draw. That sneaky planeswalker, haha.

I also included in this opening video my card pulls from the Modern Horizons 2 set which I also got lucky on opening an Urza’s Saga card.

Check out below and enjoy the full video.

I have tried doing the Magic: the Gathering booster packs battle as other MTG vloggers do in their videos but because of monetary budget constraints, it is only limited to three packs per batch. I am doing this now for the latest set Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty and most people know that set boosters are very popular and on-demand because of their features of art cards and guaranteed foils.

With its unusual lineup, it is no question that it can finish in the first place of the event. It had several ways to hasten to crew of the vehicles and smash them into combat for maximum value. See the full decklist below along with the sideboard.

So the Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty products have finally arrived in our local gamestore, including the set boosters and the collector’s box which have been on the hype because of the search for that neon Hidetsugu, Devouring Chaos. Reading about its current value enticed most of the players to do lottery opening of the collector’s packs.

In addition to my plan of having more box-opening videos from the set, I asked my good fellow player Boss Ton Co if I can do the opening of his preordered products. This is also with the collector’s box which is the first time for me. I really thanked Boss Tonton for the opportunity to do so.

Hello all, happy Wednesday. For this Magic: the Gathering Standard deck update with the latest set Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, we look at the relevant tempo deck in the format and see what has improved on the deck build. The deck is Izzet Delver Tempo and it has been seeing results in various online tournaments since the reprint of the card in Innistrad: Midnight Hunt.

Hey all. Today’s blog post is we will be checking an existing metagame deck in the Standard format & this Magic: the Gathering Standard Deck archetype is the Gruul Aggro build. There is another setup for the deck in the terms of creature choices aside from the common lineup. This may be because of its objective to get ahead in the late game by having more creatures with utility abilities or effects.

If you have been checking on the recent tournament results, the list’s core components are mostly Werewolves with Halana and Alena, Partners as an additional Haste enabler. The upgrade from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty includes Thundering Raiju and the Red Channel land Sokenzan.

Last week and out of the blue, I decided to do another giveaway raffle on my Youtube channel DeathMarked TV. The recipients are again the players of the Iloilo City Commander community, and I auto-included the participants of the previous raffle giveaway. The delay in the release of the wave one products from the set might have initiated that.

I told them to follow the same contest mechanics by having one more referral to subscribe to the channel gets them one more raffle entry. Also, there is a new participant with Sir Floyd joining the raffle and the chance to win one of the three set booster packs.

I recorded the Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty raffle giveaway last Sunday afternoon via the OBS software with the proper time stamp, and here it is below. Check out the winners.

As would expect the recent Magic: the Gathering Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty set to have an impact in the Standard format, we had never gauged it to be that successful in defining the metagame. One of the main reasons why is what I am sharing today via a deck tech archetype. Yeah, we know Izzet, Mono-White, Black, and Green Aggro are still doing great as by the recent tournaments.

If you have been a long-time Standard player in Magic: the Gathering TCG, you will notice right away that Mono-Red is one of the right-away choices in the deck archetype every time a new set arrives in the format. This was the same with the release of Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. The mechanic of Modified creatures and Vehicles offered Red a new arsenal to use in their deck builds.

As based on the recent Magic: the Gathering online tournaments and events, the prevalent Standard decks are still those that are considered high-tier before the arrival of Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty in the format. We know of course that the adjustment is not implemented right away as some archetypes are still getting a feel of the new mechanics and interactions.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:inline-block;
	min-width:100px;
	max-width:970px;

Today we are going to look at the Standard list as to what new cards were to their respective deck builds.

First up is Orzhov Midrange or Control as the way I see it. The list is from the Super Yurufuwa Cup @ Gachinko Club (Japan) held last Feb. 13th, 2022.

Maindeck

24 LANDS (28)

4 Blightstep Pathway

4 Brightclimb Pathway

1 Cave of the Frost Dragon

1 Eiganjo, Seat of the Empire

3 Hive of the Eye Tyrant

4 Needleverge Pathway

1 Plains

4 Shattered Sanctum

1 Swamp

1 Takenuma, Abandoned Mire

14 CREATURES

2 Edgar, Charmed Groom

2 Elite Spellbinder

2 Greasefang, Okiba Boss

2 Henrika Domnathi

4 Luminarch Aspirant

2 Valki, God of Lies

8 INSTANTS and SORC.

2 Emeria’s Call

2 Hagra Mauling

4 Vanishing Verse

14 OTHER SPELLS

1 Lolth, Spider Queen

4 Reckoner Bankbuster

2 Sorin the Mirthless

3 The Meathook Massacre

4 Wedding Announcement

Sideboard

2 Doomskar

3 Duress

1 Farewell

2 Go Blank

1 Lolth, Spider Queen

2 Power Word Kill

2 Rite of Oblivion

2 Soul Shatter

The Kamigawa cards added are Reckoner Bankbuster, Greasefang, Okiba Boss, and single copies of Eiganjo and Takenuma land. The bankbuster is a card draw engine and later on can become a 4/4 threat while Greasefang acts like to fill the curve as there is only Vehicle in the deck that can be used to its ability. It seems to lean more on having an option to curve out early with its fourteen creatures while also being able to sustain the late-game plan in case the opponent is still alive at that point.

Next up is Jeskai Control. The list is also from the same event, piloted by Takayuki Tachikawa.

Maindeck

22 LANDS (30)

2 Deserted Beach

1 Hall of Storm Giants

3 Hengegate Pathway

1 Mountain

4 Needleverge Pathway

1 Otawara, Soaring City

4 Riverglide Pathway

4 Stormcarved Coast

2 Sundown Pass

8 CREATURES

4 Goldspan Dragon

4 Hinata, Dawn-Crowned

1 Valorous Stance

The new cards are Hinata, Dawn-Crowned, and March of Swirling Mist which the former makes your targeted spells cost one colorless mana less. The March is just an added tempo spell that can at times also protect your dragon.

The next Standard deck archetype is Gruul Aggro and the reference list is MMA Ma Melee Feb#5 @ @ Lord Hebus Magic played by Graham Hayhurst.

Maindeck

1 Play with Fire

3 Tamiyo’s Safekeeping

2 Volatile Arsonist

New cards are Boseiju, Who Endures, Invigorating Hot Spring & Tamiyo’s Safekeeping. The Legendary Land is auto-inclusion given its power level and with three Outland Liberator as sideboard support. The hot spring reminds me of Rhythm of the Wild from Ravnica Allegiance, giving up to four free pumps and haste to your modified creatures. The safekeeping is just too good for a Common card with its three effects that are all crucial, especially during combat.

There are no new deck archetypes based on Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty mechanics yet in these tournament results but they will surely get a good finish once more local events are being held in various LGS. As for MTG Iloilo, we will be having our Prerelease event this Saturday and it will be the first time that I will be getting hold of the physical cards from the new set. We will make this enjoyable as possible.

That is a wrap for now, until the next blog post.

Hello guys and welcome to my first Magic: the Gathering deck tech for the Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Standard format. While I will still expect the products to arrive in our LGS and the return of face2face tournaments every Saturday, I will just now check on some of the new deck archetypes that emerge from the new mechanics offered by the new set.

Here below is the deck tech video I recorded just earlier today for my Youtube Channel. I hope you guys enjoy it and feel free to leave a comment for any card component modification on the deck. Thanks.

With the Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty full card spoilers already published in various Magic: the Gathering websites, we now check on which of the cards can become a candidate in the Standard format. This is in the terms of usability, adaptability, and variance in the setup of the deck build. I am starting with Green as it is one of the deck’s colors where I was successful in my record as a professional Magic: the Gathering player.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:inline-block;
	min-width:100px;
	max-width:970px;
	width:100%;
	height:200px" data-ad-client="ca-pub-2323336148464359" data-ad-slot="7353149719"></ins>

I see the Magic: the Gathering set’s mechanics fit well in an interesting way, not only with Green but also with other colors, but we will stick with that one for now. The newest Boseiju land is an auto-inclusion for the categories mentioned so I would not delve further into discussing it.

Let us begin, shall we?

First up is Careful Cultivation.

Casting Auras on your dudes is one way to get them modified, and this card is a good choice to add to the list. When you have nothing to do on your second turn, you can just Channel at end of turn of your opponent, to create a mana dude and then you can use it to ramp to a Chariot or Oddity for example.

It’s Channel ability is a ramp spell which may be costly at three-mana but given that it will relevant in the late game as a 6/5 Trampler then it gets my merit.

So two 4/5s for five mana, not bad right? You can have one of them Vigilance so it can still block for defense and the other one with Trample so it can get past chump blockers. Aside from mass removal spells, this is hard to deal with if you are also an aggro deck.

Kura, the Boundless Sky
A Mythic Dragon Spirit will surely get into my list, though its only drawback is it is a 4/4 only. To be able to replace itself with an X/X Spirit that gets bigger for each land you control and played is by itself a finisher in the late game. Also, the ability in searching for Channel lands is an added bonus.

Another instant Green ‘removal’ spell that can also deal with Planeswalkers is automatically considered in Green or Gruul Aggro decks. It sure is situational but you just need to beef up your team for it to be effective which is just natural for Green.

This is more of a sideboard card against control decks as it can at times return two of your best creatures, given that one of them has an enchantment subtype.

Shigeki, Jukai Visionary
This Legendary Snake’s channel ability is a good late-game mana sink that fits in Gruul or Bant Ramp deck build strategy. At a two-drop, it can fend off random 2/1s & 1/1s as well as let you ramp and get to choose the right land from the top four cards of your library.

Spring-Leaf Avenger
While it is unusual for Green on the Ninjutsu ability, having this in an aggro would not hurt. You get a chance to deal six damage and return an enchantment or creature from your yard for only four mana costs.

Jugan Defends the Temple
This is an interesting Green Mythic Saga that does a lot of things. Having one mana dude at first is okay, getting two of your best creatures +1/+1 counters each is better. Having a 2/2 Flyer with a good mana sink in the late game looks to be fine though it is a win more ability & depending on what other creatures you have added to your list.

Last but not least is Weaver of Harmony.

It is a built-around lord for enchantment creatures in which the set is predominantly having. You can build it on Green-White as it looks to be more supported than the other color combinations. If you’d risk enough for mana fixing, a three-colors deck build would also be fine.

This is a wrap for now, in the next few days I will discuss the other of my favorite colors, Red and Black so just stay tuned for those. Also, I might be posting some Standard deck techs on this blog and on my Youtube channel within the week. Thanks for reading.
