For today’s Magic 2020 Core Set card feature, we have another legendary Demon creature that my friend Oliver will surely enjoy to add to his Demon collection.  The demon’s name is Vilis and I am not sure if it is included in the recent lore or storyline. Here is the card below.

A flying 8/8 for eight mana is already expensive enough even for a control long-game build of a deck but on its bonus of card draws for every loss of life looks convincing. For instance, playing your shock lands untapped gets you two cards.

However, there are not much reanimation spell cards in the current Standard that can have it early on the battlefield. He is bigger than Griselbrand but the lack of lifelink I think is its main disadvantage.

The possible decks that can accommodate this demon as of the latest metagame might be on the Black Green midrange with Nissa that can ramp up the mana cost. It won’t hurt to have one or two copies in the main.
