Happy Tuesday all. I do hope you guys aren’t hyped with the online sale of the Magic 30th booster packs that is the current trending topic in the Magic: the Gathering interwebs. Those expensive proxy cards aren’t worth the product support. Anywho, I am sharing today an updated decklist of an existing Standard deck archetype that is expected to get an update with The Brother’s War set. Well, let us say it is stable already enough but then there is a new card component that might fit in and perform better in specific matchups.

The deck is Grixis Midrange and the list was referred from the Magic: the Gathering tournament named “Astarters @ CoolSpot Events” and was piloted by Gonzalo Emilio Alvarez Slowik. Here below is his full decklist, main deck, and sideboard. Notice the only new creature card on the mainboard.

The current Magic: the Gathering Standard metagame is still shaping up with the entry of The Brother’s War in the format though we already seeing some staple decks like those built around Portal to Phyrexia. Some variances I saw was Mono-Green and Jeskai Midrange artifacts. Also, the new Soldiers Tribal aggro deck is looking to be the face of the metagame under the aggro category.

For today’s blog post, we take a look at another version of the deck build that benefits from creature cards placed on the graveyard. The main creature is Urborg Lhurgoyf, and it looks to be getting an upgrade from The Brother’s War set. I found this list from the User-Submitted Decks page of the MTG Goldfish website and decided to do a deck tech discussion video.
