MTG STX Standard Deck Feature: Japanese White Weenie

Magic: the Gathering Standard decks continue their innovations as reflected on each tournament in local game stores and online. In that regard, I usually refer to Japanese tournament results as they well-known in this aspect.

In my recent tournament find, I got this decklist at the recent Weekly Challenge @ BIG Magic (Japan) result posted at the MTG Top 8 website. The deck is composed of straightforward White and creatures. Yes, just creatures and lands in the main deck. Each creature has a defined role in the deck strategy and what I have noticed here is the playset of Reidane, God of the Worthy which really aims to annoy midrange and control decks.

STX Standard Deck: Jeskai Transmogrify

The trial and error in playtesting are what makes the deck more efficient in its performance and consistency. What looks to be a solid decklist initially may soon evolve into a more versatile version, and that makes more effective plays against the other decks in the metagame of a format like Standard for example.

In today’s Strixhaven Standard deck tech feature, we have an uncommon build around on the card Transmogrify. The recent Standard version of Polymorph. This lets you cheat on the battlefield Velomachus Lorehold which also grants you a free spell when it attacks.

STX Standard Deck: Simic Midrange

Magic: the Gathering Blue and Green Standard deck strategy counterspells, tempo, surprisingly instant-cast big creatures. It is quite rare to see Flashy Green but that was part of the metagame back in M20 Standard. Anyhow, the decklist I will be sharing today is a deck brew of what we hoped a Simic Tempo and Midrange deck would look like in Strixhaven Standard.

STX Standard Deck Tech: Mono W Spells

When mentioned the term “spells” in Magic: the Gathering deck strategy language, we always consider it as Blue and Red or Izzet. In the past deck builds up to now, Izzet usually accommodates on having the best cantrip spells and creatures with abilities like Prowess to take advantage of it. In today’s deck feature, we have an unusual color that carries the term as their main strategy.

STX Standard Deck Feature: Winota Dogs

The return of the Pack is here in Magic: the Gathering Strixhaven Standard format. This is in the form of this interesting deck archetype that supports the creature tribe Dogs. The deck’s top curve here is Winota, Joiner of Forces which triggers a powerful attack when one of the cards revealed through her ability is Blade Historian.
