<p>Chicken Tinola is a Filipino soup dish cooked with chicken, wedges of green papaya, and leaves of the siling labuyo chili pepper in broth flavored with ginger, onions and fish sauce (Wiki). It is usually served as an appetizer <span id="more-14571"></span>or at times a main entree in home cooking or in your local eating place. </p>

<p>There is a one specific carinderia near our office that serve this dish every Thursday. The place, Gamlanga Eatery, is located in the ground floor of Grand Atlanta building along Ortiz Street, Iloilo City. Each serving is priced at the cheaply P50 and I suggest you go there around 11:00am so as you can choose which chicken parts to order. </p>

<p>I was able to drop by for lunch last Thursday and a good thing there were only a few customers eating. Here are the serving bowls displayed in their shelf. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img alt="" decoding="async" width="550" height="412" src="https://deathmarked.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/native-chix-tinola-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-14576" srcset="https://deathmarked.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/native-chix-tinola-1.jpg 550w, https://deathmarked.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/native-chix-tinola-1-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></figure></div>

<p>I chose the meaty part and partnered it with one cup of rice and a bottle of softdrinks. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img alt="" decoding="async" width="550" height="691" src="https://deathmarked.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/native-chix-tinola-2.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-14577" srcset="https://deathmarked.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/native-chix-tinola-2.jpg 550w, https://deathmarked.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/native-chix-tinola-2-239x300.jpg 239w, https://deathmarked.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/native-chix-tinola-2-300x377.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></figure></div>

<p>Total cost: <strong>P75 pesos</strong>. If you are concerned with your sugar intake, you can just substitute softdrinks with service water or you can bring your own. </p>

<p>Gamlanga Eatery&#8217;s location here below in the Google Maps. </p>

<p>Most of the city route jeepneys such as Lapaz, Molo Timawa, Molo City High, Baluarte, Lapuz and Calumpang pass by this street so it is easy to spot. Also, most jeepney drivers are eating here during morning for breakfast. I think most of them are already familiar with the spot. </p>

<p>That is wrap for this post. Until next time. </p>
