I have seen one interesting deck while watching the Day 1 of the Mythic Invitational Champs last night. This was on the matchup between Ken Yukuhiro and his opponent which I am not familiar with. Ken was playing a version of an Esper deck that gains value from the Azorius Enchantment Dovin’s Acuity.

Upon checking the decklist at the coverage site, I saw that the deck was on zero creatures and planeswalkers and would just gain value in the late game with the Mastermind’s Acquisition on The Mirari Conjecture and do the loop after, which I saw live during the match.

Here below is the complete decklist:

Sorcery (11)
3 Thought Erasure
1 Cry of the Carnarium
3 Kaya’s Wrath
4 Mastermind’s Acquisition

Instant (17)
4 Revitalize
1 Mission Briefing
1 Chemister’s Insight
3 Moment of Craving
2 Vraska’s Contempt
3 Mortify
2 Nightmare’s Thirst
1 Absorb

Enchantment (6)
4 Dovin’s Acuity
2 Search for Azcanta
Land (26)
2 Swamp
4 Isolated Chapel
4 Godless Shrine
4 Watery Grave
4 Drowned Catacomb
4 Hallowed Fountain
4 Glacial Fortress

Sideboard (15)
1 Cry of the Carnarium
1 The Eldest Reborn
1 Healing Grace
1 Basilica Bell-Haunt
1 Nezahal, Primal Tide
2 The Mirari Conjecture
1 Clear the Mind
1 Blink of an Eye
1 Lyra Dawnbringer
1 Sorcerous Spyglass
1 The Immortal Sun
1 Field of Ruin
1 Expose to Daylight
1 Unmoored Ego

I have been a fan of playing the five-color Humans deck in Modern right after it appeared in the metagame about two years ago. I even piloted the deck in my recent trip to Hong Kong September last year for the Grand Prix though I didn’t make it into Day 2. I try to devise ways in the sideboard to combat other trending decks which is why it is fun to explore the card options that has a Human creature type in the text.

Weeks ago when the full Ravnica Allegiance spoiler got
completed, I have thought of the possibility of a Humans deck in Standard and
so I checked on the set gallery for the relevant card components to include.
The core creature cards are Hero of Precinct One, Judith, the Scourge Diva and Tajic,
Legion’s Edge. I have also considered other Mentor creatures to pump up the
team.

Here below is version one of the deck, though it is not entirely
five-color version as we cut out Blue.

Creatures
4 Hero of Precinct One
3 Clan Guildmage
4 Boros Challenger
2 Tajic, Legion’s Edge
4 Judith, the Scourge Diva
4 Fireblade Artist
4 Hackrobat
4 Kitesail Freebooter

Spells
2 Radiant Destiny
4 Heroic Reinforcements
3 Mortify

Lands
4 Blood Crypt
4 Sacred Foundry
4 Unclaimed Territory
2 Overgrown Tomb
2 Stomping Grounds
2 Temple Garden
2 Clifftop Retreat
2 Dragonskull Summit
