Here is a quick decklist for Dominaria Standard while I am still in the process of getting my mood to do our research paper. It is a basic strategy of Green White aggro deck, with the Llanowar elves producing mana and ramping your dudes as earlier as possible, getting on board the big guns and overwhelm your opponent. We are counting the days until the release of Magic’s newest (or in my case, reminisce) set, Dominaria. The revealed cards so far are okay and exciting, given that a few old favorites are back i.e. Llanowar Elves.

I have pondered before the possible return of Goblins in the format and lined up a few notables. This time, I am looking for the build archetype that is a recent Standard version of Izzet Blitz.

By definition, Izzet (Blue/Red) Blitz is a tempo and burn deck that is filled with cheap Prowess critters backed up by counterspells and cheap instant damage spells. Now looking at the Dominaria spoilers list, I have found two cards that will possibly support the build.

The first card that came to mind is Baral, Chief of Compliance. He is by chance a Wizard so the discount bonus will be fulfilled. I have looked for other potential Wizards from the Standard-legal sets but the only other candidate was Soul-scar Mage. I may yet hope that Dominaria can provide us with more of that creature type. Anyhow, here below is the first version of the deck:
