I am getting into frequent Theros Sealed deck sessions whenever I get the time as the day draws near for GP Hong Kong 2013. Good thing we have Drafts.in for free access of Sealed deck creation. This recent generated card pool has given me option to go into Black because of Abhorrent Overlord and Whip of Erebos. The Black compo also provided efficient creature choices and also gives option for Bestow in the late game.

My second color of choice was Green because of more access to Bestow creatures and Staunch-Hearted Warrior. We also have Sylvan Caryatid to help us ramp and fix mana issues. I also decided to splash White for Gift of Immortality which can be used for a few combat tricks like that of having Sedge Scorpion an infinite blocker.

Here is my second generated Theros sealed deck from Drafts.in in preparation for Grand Prix Hong Kong this weekend. In this deck archetype approach, I went with Red and Green as my main colors and with a splash for Blue for Prophet of Kruphix. RG Monstrous is usually one of the popular archetypes in Theros Limited and for this card pool, I’ve opened two Rares that greatly support it: Ember Swallower and Colossus of Akros. There are also a few Heroic and Bestow shenanigans that can be made if the right cards are drawn.

Here is another session of my Theros sealed deck generation at the website Drafts.in. it is just three more days to go before we fly to Hong Kong for the MtG Grand Prix weekend and I still think I lack familiarization of the card interactions and strategies in the set. We also got the chance to practice actual cards last night with the six boosters that I recently purchased.

As for this current Sealed build, the base color was black with goodies on a control approach. The top curve was the devoted Abhorrent Overlord, and being mana ramp by Opaline Unicorns and Voyaging Satyr (Green was my second color). I have also decided to splash Red for two removals and the rare card Polis Crusher.
