One of the set features of Amonkhet and Hour of Devastation was the return of ‘curses’ which were originally conceptualized from Innistrad. The current versions were called torments and there are currently two in print, one for each rarity of common and uncommon.

Rey has come up with a Mono Black list that maximizes the use of the uncommon Torment of Scarabs and partnered with the sorcery Torment of Hailfire and discard spells to give opponents zero chance to choose and just lose 3 life for each curse trigger.
