I have not written as many blog posts as before and the lack of ideas and enthusiasm is mainly because most of my time is occupied with how to improve my vlogging and Youtube channel.

Starting almost half a year ago, I can say that the challenges are entirely different. Getting and brainstorming new ideas in a saturated theme is what keeps me busy and also watching a lot of Youtube videos. That said, the challenge makes me learn new things and skills, and also I can get to implement it on my videos in making them more fun and interesting.

I am supposedly having articles on Kaladheim previews since the start of December but having a new hobby makes the old one somewhat boring. Anyhow, I might start the writeups this week with the card spoilers and maybe some deck tech for Standard.

For now, this is just a checkpoint post as to where this blog site is headed and I will still be sharing my YT videos here with a short description text.

So after more than a month of waiting for the replacements parts and doing the repairs, I finally able to get my laptop back online, working, and overhauled. That is basically the hinges, LCD, and back part are replaced. That would mean that I am back on track in working with my daily blog write ups and of course on my vlog, which I planned on using OBS studio to do the recording of my deck tech features and related stuff on my Youtube channel.

Thus, I need to double pace on my list of topics to write and discuss, in particular its relevance to the recent happenings in the game like patches and stuff. I might still go with a few tutorials on Magic: the Gathering and Ragnarok Online Mobile basics here and there. Standard deck features will also be covered including recent tournament results. I guess I should start with a strict daily schedule to get me on track.

The current issue now in making my Standard deck tech videos is the freezing screen during the recording. I did a few tries but the freezing just appears right there. I am still in the process of fixing it via suggestions from the forums and YT videos so this might cause a delay. We shall see if we can get a definite fix or we go with Plan B.

Just a short notice: my laptop is currently on hiatus as it needed to be repaired because of the broken hinges. I had to surrender it to the nearest Acer repair shop and hope that the product warranty will still cover it. On the worst case, I will be spending on the replacement part and there will be further delay because of the current pandemic crisis. My estimate on that hinge prices is around 2k to 3k php and the additional service fee of 750 pesos.

As for the blog updates, I will be posting via this WordPress app I installed in my smartphone. The features are a bit limited so I guess I needed to adjust on my content structure. The topics though will still continue (Magic: the gathering, Ragnarok Online Mobile, urban planning, etc).

I have always wanted to improve the content that I am posting on this blog whether on the topics to write and not only sticking to words and pictures. Just recently, I joined a local Ilonggo group that are into video blogging or vlogging. Seeing their videos got me into the interest of also making my own on a beginner level, on topics related to Magic: the Gathering. I am thinking of starting it on my upcoming Grand Prix Hong Kong trip this September.

That would also mean buying gadgets for taking high-quality videos. I just recently brought a selfie-stick and I am not sure if it can also function on assisting my Redmi phone to take videos of the venue and stuff. I am also a noob with regards to video editing so I will mostly rely on free and easy video editor websites.

For now, I will start on reading for reference on the tips and guides on starting the vlogging gig, the topics to choose, equipment to use, etc.

It was another rainy day or weekend as per the weather permits and while I am not yet 100% recovered, I decided to just stay the boarding house today after last night’s hotpot and MTG session at Mawe’s place. I might or might not write a separate post for that and so the question now is: what did we do today?

Yeah well, it was supposedly laundry day today based on old regular schedule but when there was no chance of sunlight and that the other peeps here were also doing theirs, I decided to just cancel this task and went to check the Pro Tour Day 2 results.

I opened the stream this morning in time for the Semifinals of the Silver Showcase. The format was the Rochester draft of cards from the oldest sets Beta, Arabian Nights, Legends and the like. I think they only drafted Beta but nevertheless their decks composed of these old iconic cards which were at that time I was only a child in my Elementary days. The semis match 1 was between Hall of Famer Paulo Vitor Damo da Rosa and Jason “Amaz” Chan, a popular Twitch streamer while the second match was between Stanislav Cifka and Jon Finkel, which also one of the iconic players of this game. I would also applaud Cifka’s achievement from being a Chess champion to that of winning a Pro Tour and next gaining high finishes in Hearthstone major tournaments. I wish I am also that intelligent and skillful.

After being done with the live stream, I turned to check my blog and looked at the pending topics that I should be writing and not this sort-of-a-rant. I then decided to just go with another decklist, a budget Mono White Cats as per price basis. I finished and posted the list around lunchtime and took the food break pondering on the minor topics.

Come afternoon and still no motivation for another blog post and so I decided to check on my laptop’s Movies folder to see which ones I have not watched yet. I found this one my Downsizing starring Matt Damon, a science-fiction type but still have implications in a way to the society, government and economy. It was fascinating to see their concept of downsizing people in order to save the environment and the Human species in the end part but then again it has its pros and cons.

What to do this evening? Maybe have more readings. I am partially preparing myself for the hectic semester of DURP next weekend and since this will be the last one, I would expect to be more knowledgeable and spend more time studying. This is sort of redemption of my school performance last semester. While this may not be subject specific but I am looking to be more on learning the related concepts of urban planning or maybe just the basic concept of ‘planning’ in a sense to make it personally make sense.

This blog post was supposed to be what I have lined up for today but since it is already 5:00 pm and my head is still hurting from the somewhat slight migraine, I am sharing with you guys what are my tasks for tonight’s Maundy Thursday, a special Christian holiday.

First off, I will be writing three regular blog posts for Deathmarked with the current one in the works that are about a deck tech about Dominaria Standard. The topics of the rest are Short Report on the Traffic Situation in Pison Avenue-Tabucan Mandurriao crossing and Why I am fond of Eating Spicy Noodles.

Second, we are supposed to work on finalizing the content for Chapter 3 of our Research paper in our P299 class in the current DURP course in UP Graduate school but my groupmates seemed to be busy observing this special day. Also, our teacher has not yet replied to our Chapters sent last time so I’d guess we will just continue the write-up of our Chapter 4. I have yet to know the Data Analysis Procedure to use for the results so I think I might need to watch tutorial videos on that one.

Wrapping up the night with some bottles of ice-cold beer would be nice. That is if the nearby convenience store is open. I doubt it though.
