Few Things to Remember for GP MANILA 2012

I’ve found this post on the Neutral Grounds Ph forums which I think is very much worth the share. Grand Prix Manila is a special event for us Pinoy Magikeros and give us a chance to prove that we can be competitive in the field of Mtg gameplay. The tips are listed numerically and in a short direct-to-the-point wordings and here they are:

PREPARATION
1) Friday (June 15) – registration opens at 2pm until 8pm, reg fee is 900php.
2) Grand Prix Manila Appetizer Event (starts at 4pm, sealed format, INN-DKA)
3) Bring a pen!
4) Find a place to sleep (rest is vital for surviving Day 1!)

BEFORE THE EVENT
1) Bring your decklist with signed waiver (double and triple check to avoid game losses due to deck list problems)
2) Ensure that no card in your deck stands out in anyway (a “marked” card)
3) Bring cards to be signed by guest artist John Stanko (if you want)

DURING THE EVENT
1) BE PUNCTUAL!
2) Be responsible with your belongings
3) Stay hydrated
4) Have fun

DURING A MATCH
1) Communicate with your opponent exactly what you are doing. Remember that this is an International Event and we will have players and judges helping out in case of a language barrier.
2) Ensure sufficient randomization of your deck and your opponents
3) DO NOT HESITATE to call a judge if something is unclear during the match
4) DO NOT under any circumstances USE ANY FORM OF RANDOMIZATION TO DETERMINE THE WINNER OF A MATCH. This includes rolling a die or flipping a coin/card.
5) DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BRIBE YOUR OPPONENT TO GET A WIN

I hope these tips help you out this weekend. By the way, the Grand Prix Manila 2012 Event details can be found here.

Until next post!
