Here is another toy review of one of the non-Gunpla toys in my current collection. The figure is the GN-U-Duo Macross Plus VF-11B from Yamato. I bought these figure together with the YF-19 from Hobby Link Japan, and as of the current, I think they’ve already discontinued on selling these. My review of the YF-19 can be found here.
The toy looks like it was assembled from a model kit since there are noticeable nub marks on the edges of the arms and feet. The joints are similar to that of rubber parts from Gunpla though they are tightly secured by the shoulders and thighs of the mobile suit.
Articulation is okay but somewhat limited. It can do a firing pose with the sturdy weapon though you have to balance the feet placement so that it won’t fall down. The extra open palm hand can help in holding the weapon in place.
It is also in this figure that I tested the clear action base which I borrowed from Dexter’s store. Unfortunately, it can’t help much in getting a flight pose for the VF-11B as the figure is somewhat heavier than the stand’s grip holder.
Here are some trial poses with the stand.
I will take pose shots next time with the Gundam action base for better support. For now, here are the rest of VF-11B photos taken yesterday.
