It has been a long time, maybe years since I last built a Gunpla kit. I had retired from the hobby, disposed my unbuilt kits and a few of my tools. Financial constraints might be my major reason but I think the lackluster part of Gunpla building has consumed me. I may look at released Gunpla kits from time to time but that does not seem to excite me now. That is until is I saw the preview pics of the MG Deathscythe Hell to be released by Dragon Momoko.

As a 90s kid, I grew up watching Gundam Wing as my first Gunpla series and got enticed by the five major character and their mobile suits and since then was a fan. Seeing this version of the Gundam Deathscythe has given me an insight and a reason to purchase and build a Gunpla kit again. Time might be a factor for me now but having a snap build is good and satisfying already. Anyhow, here below are some of the preview pics published at the Dragon Momoko FB page.

The sleek design can make us conclude that this kit has surpassed the original build of the Deathscythe. Let us just be wary though of possible loose or not connecting parts given that it is a third-party released kit.

I had already placed my reservation for the preorder at my local hobby store and the owner said that the possible price would be around P1300 to P1400. The final price are to be posted.

We will see how this goes once the kit arrives and maybe I can publish an unboxing post again to scale the quality of the parts.

I am not if it is because of boredom or impulse buying or something but I recently bought a Gunpla kit again after years of hiatus from the hobby. The kit was the High Grade 1/144 scaled Gundam Barbatos and posted at the local Gundam Builders Iloilo group by a fellow Ilonggo hobbyist. I was initially watching that Gundam series of the kit and that maybe was the major influence on me buying the kit. Anyhow, what I need next to do is to update my cutting and building tools. I think my hobby knife already rusted out because of long idle use.

Here are the pics that I took during our Monday side trip after the Grand Prix Hong Kong tournament. We went to Lantau Island to see the big Buddha and after that went to Times Square mall in Causeway Bay to check the Gundam Docks at Hong Kong II exhibit.

The other Gunpla kit I have bought from Hobby Link Japan when they held one of their recent sales was the BB #172 Gouken Gundam Kirahagane Gokusai (Released June 2010). Its list price was at 1000 yen but went on sale at a 65% discount and was priced at 350 yen or at around 175php. I ordered the kit via a friend’s recommendation that it can transform from its mini version to a sort of a High Grade version.

The kit’s box is short to the box size of a HG 1/144 Gundam Wing kit and there are only three runners. The challenge is that most of the designs are sticker-based so masking and painting might be my solution. Here are the pics of the unboxing of the BB #172 Gouken Gundam Kirahagane Gokusai.

Tallgeese II by Daban Model is one of its recently released Gunpla kits that were originally only an exclusive kit from Bandai. As expected, the kit of this type is priced slightly higher than that of the regular MG kits. It was a good thing though that Daban released this for those hobbyists who can’t afford to buy the original one.

This Christmas December break means more time for me to do and finish some of my backlog Gunpla kits, but before that are the mandatory unboxing pics of each of them. For this post, I am presenting to you the Master Grade 1/100 scale Tallgeese I by Daban Model. The kit cost me around 850php from the local Gunpla store of my friend and fellow hobbyist. I have also known that Daban has released Tallgeese II which was only an exclusive kit from Bandai. That got me a chance to get the kit at a cheaper price and I have already added it on my buylist.

One of the upcoming kits to release from the third party manufacturers or popularly known as bootlegs is the High Grade 1/144 scale Rezel. The company to release is Daban Model, who just recently had MG Tallgeese I on its line of kits. Preview images have been published from Dachong, you can check after the cut.

Third party companies creating Gunpla kits has been very active in the recent months, a few of them somewhat surpass that of Bandai’s. Two most active were Daban Model and Dragon Momoko. Their kit releases were mostly from the recent series and the quality improving in each new batch.

I recently bought one, Daban Model’s Tallgeese I which I would still yet to build. Also, another one that I will add on my future buy list is the Master Grade Tallgeese III from Dragon Momoko. To note, Bandai has not yet released a Master Grade version of this mobile suit, only the HG 1/100 scale. I am excited what features DM will include, and the weapons it will have.

Here are some previews I’ve found on various Gunpla groups in FB.

As I am trying to get active again in Gunpla, I will try to take unboxing pics of my previous kit purchases and write them into blog posts for the site. For today I will be sharing to you the contents of one of the third party manufacturers’ kits, MC’s RX-93 Nu Gundoom Ground Type.

I bought this kit at around July (a backlog for already four months now), and the reason was I got fascinated by the design when it was released in the market. I think it was based on a resin mold of an independent design (not of Bandai’s).

The Nu Gundoom Ground Type kit’s box art, manual and runners have all been compiled into a simple image slideshow below.

For a short description, it has a number of runners unusual from the usual three to four runners of an HG kit. I assume the assembled kit would be pretty much detailed as it was depicted in the manual. The weapon and armaments also look awesome.

I might list this as my next project if given the time for me to cut off the parts and clean the nub marks. We shall see what the paint job would be for this kit.

I got into a quick purchase last Friday from my preferred Gunpla kits store. I initially inquired about the availability of the HG Unicorn Gundam Destroy Mode with Unicorn Headbase and received good news that the kit will be on stock on the following Saturday. I then decided to buy the kit but I also wanted to have great use for the shipping fee, in which I should buy another HG kit to get the shipping discount. I’ve checked on the seller’s stock list and chose a bootleg SD kit (which I think is friendly on the defects aside from the usual TTH HG kits which have a lot of issues).

Here are the Gunpla kits that arrived just yesterday.

The SD 00 Quant is actually my first bootleg SD kit. Let us see what the pros and cons of this kit in one of my future reviews.

The HG Unicorn Gundam Destroy Mode with Unicorn Headbase by Daban Model. This kit completes my previous kit HG Gundam Unicorn mode (which was my first kit when I started this hobby).

I am hoping to enjoy building these two kits. Soon it shall be.

Finally, a decent completed kits update and of course pics. My recent two build projects were the two SD kits that I’ve purchased for my birthday way back in September. These two were already done and I’ll just find time to take pose pics for the second SD kit. Meanwhile, here is the completed SD Gundam GP04 from the SD G-Generation F series.

As for a short review of this kit, the articulations are expectedly limited like most SD kits whereas the color separations are okay. The stickers are there to help on the detail so the kit can be made out of the box. That is, without painting and panel lining.

Building SD kits is a good past time exercise for people who have a busy schedule at work and the easy build gets you to fulfill your Gunpla itch at the least. Lol
