Magic: The Gathering Arena offers an interesting gameplay format for its users to enjoy. One of which has recently been updated is the MTG Cube Draft, a popular casual format because it offers a customizable, nostalgic, and highly strategic gameplay experience that appeals to casual and competitive players alike.
One of the unique aspects of Cube Draft is the ability to fully customize the card pool. Players (or cube designers) can hand-pick cards to create a balanced and engaging draft experience. This allows players to build cubes based on themes, colors, power levels, or personal favorites, leading to endless variations and creativity. A well-designed cube can feel like a curated “greatest hits” collection of Magic cards. This one was customized by the MTG Arena administrators.
The Cube Draft also helps players improve their drafting and deck-building skills, as they learn to evaluate cards based on the limited, but high-powered, card pool of the cube. Players also refine their skills in reading draft signals, adapting to unexpected picks, and thinking on their feet. This is one of the good formats to practice those.
Here below are some of the gameplay videos after drafting Black and Red or Rakdos colors in my first MTG Arena Cube draft experience.
