MTG Standard Artifact Affinity’s Unexpected Evolution with Edge of Eternities

The Magic: the Gathering Standard Artifact Affinity strategy gets a powerful new twist with the release of the Edge of Eternities set. Traditionally focused on swarming the board with low-cost artifacts and overwhelming the opponent early, this build now leans into a more resilient game plan.

The inclusion of new card options from Edge of Eternities allows the deck to recycle its resources, turning previously cast artifacts into a steady stream of value. This changes the tempo of the deck—still fast when it needs to be, but now capable of sustaining pressure across longer matches without folding to board wipes or removal-heavy decks.

What makes this version stand out is its ability to seamlessly curve its aggression as you have more artifacts on your board. The natural synergy between cheap artifacts and the longer game of gaining board value (likely with free artifact creatures), setting the stage for the new Edge of Eternities cards to take over.

It’s no longer just about dumping your hand and hoping for the best; now there’s a plan for every phase of the game. This update makes Artifact Affinity less of a glass cannon and more of a threat that keeps coming back—forcing opponents to deal with the same threats more than once, often to their frustration.
