Zendikar Completes Your Goblin Deck

You might be curious about the title, but today’s Zendikar previews proved my post title above and you will be happy swinging with your Goblin friends again. First, lets do a recap.

I remembered my early days of playing Magic wherein I first gazed upon the Goblin deck in Standard at the time of Tempest and Urza block. That deck featured powerful Goblin cards, a couple of burn spells and fueled late game with the insane artifact named Cursed Scroll. I’m sure you’ll remember this particular Goblin which was also popular in Legacy and was even banned at one time. Yep, I’m talking about this card:

This card has been wrecking havoc in tournaments since it was printed and guess what, Wizards has been kind (or crazy?) enough to print back its big bro. Check out Evan Erwin’s final preview of the goblin Warren Instigator.

You might say now that’s a really insane card, putting not one but two Goblin cards into the battlefield with its Double Striking ability. Good thing I’ve got a set of Goblin Chieftains to work with this guy. This may have the hype attention right now but without the support of other goblins in Zendikar, it might be not as powerful as it looks. I just wish Chameleon Colossus is still in Standard this October. Lol.

Bonus: Check out this another Goblin Preview.

Goblin Ruinblaster, 2R

Now that’s Avalanche Riders version 2 for you, minus the Echo cost and ready to blast those Alara trilands and M10 duals.

I’ll be updating my Black Red Goblins with these two and will do a few adjustments. Also expected to see more Goblins in Zendikar. Thanks Wizards! 😀
