My First 1/100 Master Grade Gunpla Kit

As I push through to learn and enjoy Gunpla Modeling, I’ve thought about going beyond the High-Grade kits. That is to try building Master Grade kits. One reason though that hinders it is because of my buying price limit. I didn’t want to spend thousands just for a single kit. Also because more of my spending is on my major hobby, Magic the Gathering cards.

Just last month though, I got the chance to buy one because of a good deal from a friend and fellow Gunpla enthusiast. The kit is a 1/100 scale Wing Zero Custom (of a bootleg brand). Since I don’t want to commit for the original brand on my first MG kit, I think it is worth to try it out.

It was almost a month after the purchase when I started building the kit.

Here is the first batch of pics that I took during the work process.

The kit manual.

Lot of runners as expected from an MG kit

Description and features of the Wing Zero Custom kit.

First parts I've test fit is the pilot cockpit in the torso part.

Assembled inner frame of the cockpit.

White armor parts readied for painting.

Inner frame leg parts to be painted Dark Grey.

A glance of my work area.

The assembled twin beam rifle.

I can’t say much about this kit as of the moment since the inner frame has not been completely assembled. One major thing is that it is kind of difficult to keep track of the parts, even if grouped by its colors. I had to resort to cut-and-assemble type & to know which runners these parts are from. I guess I’ll know pretty soon.

Until next post.
