During the second day of our Iloilo City Tourist and Heritage sites on-site assessment and evaluation, we stopped by one of the unpopular museums in the city and what I have thought initially as not. That is because I was unfamiliar with the place and I only heard from friends that they opened as an art gallery.
The place Gallerie de Arsie is located in Sumcio Subdivision, Q. Abeto-Mirasol Streets, Mandurriao, Iloilo City and going there is quite a feat because of the small roads and some of them filled with potholes. It was a rainy afternoon when we visited the place which is a four-story building and also functions as office space of the family’s business. The owner of Gallerie de Arsie was the Rafael family but it was Arsenio III, which his son is my co-hobbyist for the Iloilo toy collectors, who started the collection. He is also the co-owner of the Critical Hit hobby shop in Festive Mall.
I have discovered that they opened two years ago, with the Ilonggo artists attending the opening occasion. Since then, the gallery is frequent by locals and tourists alike. Each floor is filled with lots and various kinds of art, sculpture, and paintings. I get to take a picture of each significant item that interest my eyes and here they are below. Enjoy!
