The recent Grand Prix in Taipei, Taiwan was greatly participated by a lot of Filipino pros, including a few of my acquaintances. Standard was the format in which the current diversity in the metagame that I somewhat appreciated. The entry of War of the Spark has truly made a major impact in the top tier decks along with the innovations of new archetypes.
Upon checking on the Top 8 results of the event, there was a variance between control, aggro and midrange decks. The archetypes were: 2x Bant Ramp, 2x Grixis Bolas, Boros Feather, Jund Warriors, Esper Superfriends, and Simic Nexus. Bant Ramp is probably the most popular deck in that event meta for midrange whereas Gruul Midrange is the deck choice of most aggro fans.
The finals match was decided between Esper Superfriends and the popular Bant Ramp deck it was the latter that took the win and championship of GP Taipei. The player was Kim Seok Hyun from Korean and here below is his decklist:
