Playing White Aggro decks in the past has proved to be efficient, whether it is on straightforward Mono White or associated with allied or enemy colors. With the coming of Guilds of Ravnica and Selesnya Conclave, it is a standard procedure to adapt to the strategies that the guild provides. However, sticking to one color does not seem to be bad in the coming Standard format. The one particular card that I think would support this claim is Bounty Agent.
It is a 2/2 for two, with Vigilance and an ability that is a pseudo-removal. This can be added in your curve of two-drops along with that Knight from Dominaria. It would be too powerful if it can kill planeswalkers but there are some probable targets in Standard to have its use. Too bad Heart of Kiran is already rotated out by that time. Along the possible targets of this agent are: Adeliz, Aryel, Lyra, Grand Warlord Radha, Nicol Bolas in creature form, Mox Amber, Multani, Naban, and few of the Guild leaders in Ravnica.
Having two copies in the maindeck is not bad, as it can also be buffed by the Benalish Marshall on your correct creature curve. We shall see how it goes once Guilds of Ravnica is officially released.
Until the next blog post.
