The Standard metagame breakdown during the first week of Adventures in the Forgotten Realms joining the format saw Sultai Ultimatum as still a favorite and dominant archetype while a few aggro decks thrive in the top finishers with their consistency as one key in winning against multi-colored decks. Aside from the Mono-Red Aggro deck, one other color that got recognized is the Mono-Green Aggro, which got its new toys from the recent set.

The new cards are Werewolf Pack Leader, Ranger Class, and the manland Lair of the Hydra. The first two AFR cards mentioned provides a good advantage early on by a lower and friendlier mana-curve in the list as compared before.

Mono-Green Aggro can stomp literally every other aggro deck and is also a good matchup against semi-tempo decks such as the Izzet Dragons. It has ways to protect its creatures and at the same can produce enough gas in the late game.

Another version of the deck archetype uses playsets of Jaspera Sentinel and Old-Growth Troll in the creature curve and with a late-game endurance in two copies of Scavenging Ooze. The goal is to be more on the offense consistency rather than be reactive against the opponents’ play.  Check out the full decklist below.
