Magic: the Gathering Card Pool Update for July 2022

The card pool’s Standard deck setup is continually improved by referencing some updated lists at the recent Magic: the Gathering tournament results posted on the MTG Top 8 website and MTGO Standard League at the mothership website. As of the current lineup, the decks are Jund Midrange, Grixis Vampires, Esper Rafine, and Mono-White Aggro. We also have a pending deck project on the Gruul Modified list which will have components adjusted from that of the Jund deck.

The Jund Midrange deck build is supposed to be adjusted into the Kalain, Reclusive Painter deck builds with the late-game Goldspan Dragon as the finisher. Most of the components though are pending rotation so we’re thinking if we are still to commit some of the pool’s budget to it. We know it is a good build but how we can ROI out of it is the question.

As for the Grixis Vampires deck, the list will still be the same aside from a few adjustments in the sideboard. The edits will lean more toward the aggro decks that are prevalent in the local metagame.

The weekly Standard tournament will be the only event that the pool will be grinding on, and the prizes may not be enough on value, given that the set boosters are at times, limited on stock. We shalll see what the upcoming events will be with the announcement this weekend. Be it a qualifier or game day tournament, we needed to be as competitive as possible.
