The Magic: The Gathering Arena is the only place where the Arena Historic, the constructed format can be played. It was created to give players a place to use cards from previous sets that aren’t included in the Standard format, which predominantly uses cards from the most recent sets.
Several digital-only releases and sets that were rotated out of Standard are included in the card pool in Arena Historic. The format originally only supported cards from the Ixalan expansion and forward, but over time, Wizards of the Coast, the publisher of Magic: The Gathering, has sporadically added new sets to the format, increasing the number of cards that are now playable.
The next question is: What happens when there is no banning implemented in this format? A lot of deck strategies just pop out of our minds in order to efficiently win every game and as fast as possible.
Today’s Historic deck feature goes with the strategy to go midrange. The aim is to efficiently answer any archetype that can go aggro, combo, or grind late to a controllish route.
