I created an account and started playing Magic Arena back in its closed Beta days and I really enjoyed this online platform and gameplay. The problem that time though was that the game was forcing me to spend money in order to build a better and competitive deck. I had the freebies card pool that I worked around in building my decks but it was mostly composed of mediocre cards. In my open matchups, I am always completely destroyed by the better card-value decks which got me frustrating. Thus, I quit and uninstalled the game.
Months after, I always looked at Magic: the Gathering Arena gameplay hosted by these various Twitch streamers and competitive tournaments like the recent Mythic Championships II hosted under the same platform. Arena can easily show deck techs and decklists of Top 8 players in a form that is presentable and nice-looking, especially to those who is just new to the game. The rising popularity has somewhat made me consider playing it again.
The current constraints, however, is time and budget. We shall see what will be my decision in the coming weeks.
