It has now been decided that I will be an assisting judge on the upcoming Magic: the Gathering Preliminary Pro Tour Qualifier here in Iloilo City. Judge Reuben Ferrer posted in the Judge Apps of the event and assigned to me the role along with my teammate and fellow Ilonggo judge Ace Baron. The tournament schedule is on Sunday at Reis Place and I think we still have a lot to prepare.
First off, there is no air-conditioning so we would need to set up a good ventilation so as the players would not be uncomfortable while doing their matches. We are expecting players from Bacolod, Cebu and probably a few from Manila to join this event. I do not know if most of the local players have committed to play since it is a Sunday with most of them doing the family day. Also the competitive players seem to be busy nowadays. I have yet to inquire tonight or tomorrow.
I took the role of providing the printer for the printing of the matchup result slips and pairings, and laptop for the Wizards Event Reporter. Rei, since it is his place, should provide enough tables and chairs though I think his store capacity is around 30 players. I have to check on it again tomorrow after my class on the final preparations and the other things needed. I may have another blog post for that.
Anyhow, here again is the announcement at the MTG Iloilo Community Facebook page:
