In preparation for tonight’s FNM, I was again forced to the update the team’s roster of Standard decks. One in particular that I have made some adjustments was on the Selesnya Aggro. The changes were made to somewhat fit in the recent local metagame which I’ve noticed that it was 60% aggro. Mono Black devotion is still existent but this is already a good matchup for the deck. What I needed was the right card components for the aggro matchups. Here is what I’ve come up with:

The maindeck Unflinching Courage is to make it hard for the aggro opponents to race with damage. Brimaz was also cut in favor of Witchstalker which combos with the aura. The other good target are the Fleecemane Lions which you can monstrous EOT and enchant it on your turn. What I have observed is that even though it has already the benefit of Monstrosity, it can’t still go past on creatures like Polukranos and Soldier of the Pantheon. Unflinching Courage solves that issue.

I have not yet finalized the sideboard plan of the deck but the list will more likely of the generic cards versus certain matchups. For those who will be around Iloilo City tonight, please do visit our FNM at Rei’s Place which will start around 6:30pm. Hoping to meet you guys.
