Tomorrow, July 4 Friday, is the start of another MtG weekend for us here in the Iloilo Magic community and we will kick off the month with a Friday Night Magic (Standard format) event. As an SOP, I needed to update the team’s decks again to fit the local metagame.

I’d be expecting more Mono Blue Devotion decks so the sideboard will have the cards against those matchups.

Here are the decks that were edited or made as of this posting:

Mono White Aggro – the list was referenced from Craig Wescoe’s recent finish at the GP and was adjusted due to the lack of Gideon in the card pool. King Brimaz took those slots since they are already a playset in the sideboard, so they are most likely being swapped to less relevant cards in aggro mirror matchups.

Red Blue Devotion – I am bringing Keranos and friends back into the deck lineup. It is my favorite Nykthos Devotion-based deck that can curve pretty fast and has a late-game blowout in overloaded Mortars or Cyclonic Rift. Another reason is Turn/Burn, which is a great combat trick.

Black White Midrange – net decked from Ben Friedman’s SCG Invitational list with a list change from a cut of Lifebane Zombie to two copies of Blood Baron. I have also made slight edits on the sideboard for the Red aggro matchups.

Those are the updated decks as of this time, and the next in line maybe is Naya Auras in which I will add more Witchstalker and spot removals.
