It’s that time of the year again that I will be serious in preparation for a major MtG tournament. This event is the World Magic Cup Qualifiers for 2014. The schedule is a bit late as compared to last year’s April and June dates. The qualifiers will be on the months of August (two) and September (one). The format will still be Standard and the participation card which I really liked for these events will be a promo foil Geist of Saint Traft. Check out the card’s new art below.

Also, if you get to a Top 8 finish, you will get an exclusive World Magic Cup Qualifier Top 8 playmat and of course, the champion will get the invite to represent the country in the World Magic Cup on December 5-7, 2014 in Nice, France.

I am hoping this time that my preparation for the WMCQ will be enough to get me a slot, recalling last year’s two close chances which only got me into the Top 4. The coming days will be leaving enough budget and waiting for the airline promos for the flights to Manila. We’ll see if there will be another piso fare promo announced.
