This is just some on-the-spot blog post about my personal life and somewhat of a break from my Magic: the Gathering deck brews. I started the day waking up and thinking if I will process my certified birth certificate from the NSO Regional office. I will be needing this document for my passport renewal appointment scheduled next week. I then remembered that I have a pending transaction at the Iloilo City hall at noontime and so I readied myself.

Checking the emails and the client’s websites were my next tasks, and so is getting updates from Facebook. Of course I would not miss a hot cup of coffee to start my morning. I was somewhat still recovering from my asthma so I needed to have breakfast so I could take my meds after that. The nearest carinderia is my go-to place solution. I also needed to update the reservation list for Rei’s Prerelease event this Saturday and get rid of those names who backed out. Another contribution for the community I guess.

As of this posting I am currently here at the City Hall waiting for the contact person. Hopefully I will be able to finish this early so I could grab some cat food at the grocery before going home. Let us see how this goes.

I can say that this is sort of a recap of a conversation from last Sunday and I would like to apologize beforehand for the plethora of grammatical errors. Here is how the story goes:

She told me that she needed to go somewhere to chill because of the summer heat.

She told me that she visited an unfamiliarly new place, with tea and finger foods.

She told me that it was a nice place to hang out, though she seemed to be lonely. I assumed she wanted some company.

She told me that I might not have some spare time that afternoon and that she is just disturbing me.

She told me that the place is near the main front entrance, somewhat on the left side. I went to the other main entrance. We were slightly confused about the communication.

She told me that she bothered me during my laundry session. I said it was not a problem. I am just happy to be there, to see her.

She told me to order something, I got a large Lychee iced tea.

She told me about work, that it is quite tiring for her already.

She told me that the travel to that town is little by little exhausting her.

She told me that she wanted to leave, but the contract must be ended first.

She told me about the hours of travel from the capital town and also to the patients’ houses.

She told me about the daily chores checkups and details on the medication of each of the patients.

She told me that she is somewhat enjoying it but she just hates the travel part.

To be continued…

Since the change of my ISP to Globe broadband, I was into downloading episodes from torrent of the TV series that I have missed or needed to catch up. I had to spare a few hours every weekend just to cope up, and so, here are a few of the recent TV shows that I am watching.

First of was the recent Gundam anime series Mobile Suit Gundam – Iron-Blooded Orphans in which the season ended just last week. I am currently on hiatus of this Gunpla hobby but then again I needed to know their recent storylines. I am currently on episode 11 and still have more than ten episodes to watch. It will be pretty fast since each episode only runs to around 24 minutes.

Next is Marvel’s Daredevil which is on its second season. The story of this hero continues with the involvement of the characters Punisher and Elektra. I am on episode 4 at the moment as I tried to listen and digest each specific happenings in the previous episodes.

The number three TV Show is Lucifer, which I saw the pilot episode last year. The story is about the devil Lucifer taking a break from ruling Hell and decided to visit Earth and mingle with the humans. It was somewhat fictional with detective type of story and what I liked was his accent and devilish gestures. I am currently on episode 7 of this show.

Number four is Limitless, a TV series rendition of the movie of the same title. What is good here is the main actor Bradley Cooper is also involved in this series. The story’s timeline happens after the success of the development of the NZT drug and the main character Brian Finch uses it to help the FBI in solving their complex cases. This is still ongoing and I am on episode 5.

Last is Supergirl which got me interested after watching the pilot episode last year. She is Superman’s cousin possessing the same superpowers. The story is somewhat of a typical superhero discovering her potential and using it help fight evil and the bad guys. So far it is ok and running smooth. I am on episode 4 of this series.

That is a total of five series, and not to mention the recent movies that I have copied from the office makes me think that I needed at least a day to sit down, watch and chill and maybe cuddle. Lol. Anyhow, I will eventually have time for that. I just needed to manage my day-time schedule.

Until the next post.
I have been a fan of reading books back in my grade school and early high school days, which was when Internet was not yet accessible and popular. I remember before that I bought books everytime I go with my mother to the city. I get to be excited every time we visit a bookstore or a public library. We also had in the house a science encyclopedia and a world atlas books which I read every morning during the summer breaks.

Today I think I am bringing back that habit. Influenced recently by a friend, he recommended three famous books (which I just got familiar with) to buy and maybe have me buy a shelf for it. The book titles are: The Art of War, The 48 Laws of Power and The Art of Seduction. This got me thinking that aside from those three books he mentioned, I can look for other books that are of related topics. With that regard, I think I will just start a mini library in my room.

Right after the holy week holidays, I went to Robinson’s National Book store to find out if they have the three books on stock. Unfortunately, only one is available (The Art of War). The one that I least liked. I then went to the other book store, Book Sale for the same purpose. They also don’t have the books on stock so I just sort some of those that on sale and came upon this book that costs just 30 pesos.

I think this will help me in my future diet plans which I really have not started yet. This will serve as my current reading material at home while I wait for the restock of the aforementioned books. There is an option that I can order books from the other NBS branches in Manila but I wanted to save myself of the shipping hassle as I recently had a bad experience on that one.

Anyhow, I might frequently visit the bookstores in the future in search for random titles that will get my interest and attention. I think it is a good thing to spend your money on books rather than on booze or fastfoods right?
Hey guys, what’s up? First off I am sorry for the unexpected silence on the posts of my blog. I have been away for more than a week as joined Oliver’s family on a trip to Catarman, Northern Samar. It was a long holy week to spend on a new place but I enjoyed it. It was the Roro trip that was just exhausting as it was my first time to travel for almost a day (24 hours). I will have a separate post for the details of the trip once I got the mood to write about it. Anyhow, I am just glad to be back home (just this morning though).

To get an update of things, the Journey into Nyx Prerelease will be this weekend and our Iloilo event schedule will be on Saturday, April 26th. I have somehow checked the completed spoiler while I was in Samar but I didn’t seem to come up with a build strategy for a sealed Prerelease pack. The inclusion of the previous two sets makes the strategies on deck building interesting. We’ll see if my I get to open a lucky pool of cards this time.

As for the Gunpla stuff, Nu Ver Ka by Daban Model is now available from my fave online store so I needed to place my order for Friday’s shipping schedule. Raphael Gundam priced it at P1450php, a regular price for most sellers, but the shipping fee is a big discount for only P150. Building the pending kits is another issue though. I will do my best on this weekend to continue on the Nu Gundam Ground Type and to finish it asap so I can start on the Tallgeese kits.

I somehow was just eating a lot in Samar so I needed to get my diet mode on and to hit the gym for my remaining subscription days. I was just thinking though to eat at the Mongolian buffet for dinner. Hmmm which is which?

So that is about it for now. I will be posting next my thoughts on the Standard decks post Journey into Nyx so just stay tuned. Thanks for reading.

This is quite an old event but nevertheless I am sharing this to you guys. Just last September, my girlfriend and I travelled to Hong Kong for a week to celebrate my birthday. It was my first time to visit the place and we had a lot of tourist spots to visit in the list. We stayed at a hostel in Mong Kok, with a somewhat good distance with the top tourist spots.

We had arrived Hong Kong Monday morning at around 9am from Clark Airport. I had to travel the day before to Manila to meet up with her then we went to Clark right away. We had to stay overnight in Clark as our flight schedule is 7 in the morning.

Good thing it was just a quick one and a half hour travel, and we had enough time to find the hostel. The directions are correct, but after arriving at the said street, we had a hard time finding the correct block no. and the building.

It was also hard to ask for directions as most of the Chinese there don’t speak English. We finally able to ask for help from a Filipina working there, which she was able to show us the correct street block. The next problem is to find which building is the hostel. By accident, we were able to see a sign from a small entrance the name of hostel. We inquired inside and were very happy to know that we were at the correct place.

Their front desk was at the 14 floor and the room they assigned to us is at the 13th. I guessed they were not as superstitious as we Filipinos are. The room, though small as I expected, was quite okay. There is a TV and free wifi access and the bathroom have a heater installed, good features for a regular hostel.

We rested the whole afternoon, and explored the streets at around dinner. It was a good coincidence that the Ladies’ Market is just across the main street so we would not have to worry about on where to buy pasalubong and souvenirs. On that first night, an old lady already convinced me to buy shirts from her shop. I don’t really consider buying at that time but bought anyway.

Day 2

First on our list of tour places is the Ngong Ping Cable Car. According to Wiki, Ngong Ping Cable Car is a 5.7 kilometres (3.5 mi) long bi-cable gondola lift system (referred to by its operators as a “cable car”) linking between Tung Chung (where it connects the MTR Tung Chung station) and Ngong Ping (where the Po Lin Monastery and Tian Tan Buddha are located). Between the two terminals at Tung Chung and Ngong Ping, the lift system runs across the southern shore of the Hong Kong International Airport island and Nei Lak Shan, with eight towers including the stations. I guess all of these explained the place.

We arrived just in time for the opening and it was a weekday so there are little to moderate tourists at the site.

I’ll just let the photo slideshow below illustrate our endeavors that day. Enjoy!

Here’s part two and update of my work on the High Grade 1/144 MSA-0011 S-Gundam. As mentioned on the previous post, I decided to paint the kit with metallic colors. That is, after checking some reference pics from various reviews on Gunpla sites online.

Here are the paints I’ve used:

Tamiya Gun Metal, Bosny Metallic Blue and Lotus Flat White

Unicorn wants to challenge him to a duel. Lol.

To conclude, this kit is so far my favorite work in my four months on Gunpla modeling. Its not because of a gift from my special someone, but because of its great detail on the parts (the shoulders, arms, etc) which is uncommon for a High Grade. I am thinking to finish this up with a clear top coat but I’ll do a test spray first so as not to mess up things.

To date, two kits (an HG and an SD) arrived yesterday and one more HG will be coming next week which means more pending work me until the end of this year. *sigh* Also, the plan of me buying a display cabinet is still on hold. I’m hoping to find cheap ones on the furniture stores in the downtown instead of buying from the malls (which is my option B). Anyhow, I will just post on update just in case.

I guess that’s about it for this post. See you next time and merry christmas!

Hey peeps. This is actually a late post but hey, its better late than never. I just got too busy at work. Anyway, the trip was last Tuesday. After my off from work, I went to Jaro Plaza to meet with my brother who had invited me earlier to go to Roxas City to meet with his childhood classmate. I arrived there earlier and had to wait for about an hour (and also was fighting my sleepiness). He arrived around 7:30 in the morning, rested for a bit and we’re headed off to Roxas city.

To sum up the rest of the trip, here are the pics.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" alt="It was raining hard here in Iloilo when we left for Roxas.
We were actually able to go the belfry and see the actual bell there. Unfortunately, my bro’s cam ran out of battery and the memory card of Magno’s cam who took the rest of the pics broke. Oh well. It was a very fun experience though.

I’m looking forward for another travel escapade this year and I hope Team Videoke will finally decide on a trip despite the busy sked. In the meantime, I gotta say goodbye.

There was a birthday party sked on that day but that was also canceled the day before so we just took our time to have fun and practice on the mix. Here are some of our pics:

Master and I thought about a new recipe to cook this week and we ended up in cooking Sinigang na Baboy (Pork in Sour Broth). I took charge of cooking it with no idea whatsoever (my first time again. lol..) so I looked for a cooking procedure in the internet and here’s what I’ve followed:

SINIGANG NA BABOY (Pork in Sour Broth)

1. In a large pot, bring water and pork to a boil. Add tomatoes, onion, salt and tamarind. Simmer 1 hour or until pork is tender.
2. Optional: Remove tamarind and mash with some broth. Strain juice back into pot.
3. Taste for seasoning. Bring to a boil. Add green beans and radish. for 10 minutes.
4. Add spinach, cover and remove from heat. Let stand 5 minute to finish cooking spinach.

The changes in the ingredients that I’ve used are the Sinigang mix instead of the actual tamarind, radishes and kangkong (river spinach). The result?

Looks yummy eh. Now who said that Magic: The Gathering players can’t cook. Lol…

I got this some kind of a personality test from an officemate. She said that this test can really predict your personality with a high accuracy rate. I don’t believe that at first because I was just clicking on picture choices given the situation asked to me by this Blind Man Bob. After I was done with the questions, I was surprised to see that the results were actually true. I’m not sure though with the predictions regarding my ideal love partner. Check out Blind Man Bob’s prediction on it below.

Your Ideal Female Lover Profile

The type of woman who attracts you is honest, direct, and reliable – who can be your “pal”. You like a woman who’s playful one minute, and philosophical the next.

Above all, companionship, honesty, and idealism appeal to you – and a sense of humor! You also like “outdoorsy”, athletic, or adventurous types; and can be attracted to women who are “foreign” to you by race, religion, or country of origin – or all three!

You need your “space” and freedom in relationships; yet with a partner who allows you this freedom, you feel less of a need to actually exercise it! Just to know you have the freedom to choose is the important thing. You may not commit to a lasting relationship while young, remaining single until you’re ready to trade total independence for the benefits of an intimate, lasting partnership.

Your natural friendliness can be mistaken by some for a sexual interest; and you are as likely to confuse a woman’s friendliness with romantic interest. You may find that many of your potential romances actually end up as platonic friendships instead.

Ideally She should also have the following :

She would be extra nice to me on special occasions.
She would represent security to me.
She would respect my need for occasional separate leisure time.
She would make sure that we live in comfort.
She would be someone who excites me sexually.
She would show interest in most aspects of me.
She would not interfere with my having my own friends.
She would generally take my suggestions or advice.

Hmmmmmm….interesting… I liked this one “She would respect my need for occasional separate leisure time.” It really fits me as a Magic player. LOL.

You can try the personality test yourself here.

A late post (blame it to the photographer guy) but I just want to share to you the latest events of our COP or Circle Of Peeps. Lol! We had agreed to have dinner at my place last Friday just as the Dinagyang Fever 2009 had started. The gatherers were Eaves, April, Cecille, Mao, Oliver, Jimmy, Rei, John Ross, Elena, RJ, John Ryan, Arni and yours truly. Here are some of the pics courtesy of Jimmy’s digicam:
