Completed: High Grade S-Gundam Part 2

Here’s part two and update of my work on the High Grade 1/144 MSA-0011 S-Gundam. As mentioned on the previous post, I decided to paint the kit with metallic colors. That is, after checking some reference pics from various reviews on Gunpla sites online.

Here are the paints I’ve used:

Tamiya Gun Metal, Bosny Metallic Blue and Lotus Flat White

Here is what the blue parts looked like after painted with Metallic Blue.

Didn't got the actual color on camera, but it looked awesome with the tiny silver dots.

Gun parts and some joints to be painted Metallic Black.

Here are the results..

Here are the rest of the assembled parts.

The two "heavy arms" assembled

The feet and the legs. Sexy..

The upper torso

The backpack boosters, also painted Gun Metal.

That is a very long... gun.

The fully-assembled backpack, just needed panel lines.

To complete the whole body.

Comparing the size to a TT Hongli HG Kyrios, this S-Gundam is gigantic!

Continued the panel lining work that night. I apologize for the blurry shot.

Added the transparent stickers. I actually had a hard time getting them out from the sticker sheet.

Closer look of the decals.

Now for the poses…

Unicorn wants to challenge him to a duel. Lol.

To conclude, this kit is so far my favorite work in my four months on Gunpla modeling. Its not because of a gift from my special someone, but because of its great detail on the parts (the shoulders, arms, etc) which is uncommon for a High Grade. I am thinking to finish this up with a clear top coat but I’ll do a test spray first so as not to mess up things.

To date, two kits (an HG and an SD) arrived yesterday and one more HG will be coming next week which means more pending work me until the end of this year. *sigh* Also, the plan of me buying a display cabinet is still on hold. I’m hoping to find cheap ones on the furniture stores in the downtown instead of buying from the malls (which is my option B). Anyhow, I will just post on update just in case.

I guess that’s about it for this post. See you next time and merry christmas!
