A Short Fix on the MG Zaku Project

So this Zaku project has gone hay way, due to the recent events that happened and also due to missing parts which I finally got to replace thanks to my friend Jerome. The painting and details were also done for most of the outer armor parts, as well as assembling them.

Here is a glimpse of the work already done.

The recent issue I’ve encountered was another lost part, this time on the spring tubes for the leg part of the Zaku. I didn’t know how I lost it but as I was assembling the legs, I’ve checked that the tube is not the regular rubber plastic used in the head and on the hips. I inspected the box for the springs only to find out it was gone. I was a bit furious and angry and lost my mood on completing this kit. Eventually, my senses came back and I had to think of a way to replace the springs.

I consulted a few of my Gunpla collector colleagues and asked for suggestions. The discussion later on led to an idea that made me checked the local hardware store nearby. We looked for an electric wire with the diameter that will fit as the tube. Good thing I found one and cost me at 11 pesos a meter.

Here is a gallery to explain the fix that I did (which I find hard to explain in words lol).

As of this posting, the mobile suit is now completely assembled and the pending work is on the painting of the Zeon weapons. Hopefully I can do these by tomorrow or Thursday so it would be complete to display on Saturday’s Hobby Con.

Until next post.
