In today’s Innistrad: Midnight Hunt card spoiler, we feature another utility Human card that protects you from graveyard hate plus the Disturb ability. What I like about these creatures is that they are not only cheap to cast but also have passing abilities that either help you or annoy the opponent.
Check out Dennick, Pious Apprentice and its flip err disturbed card version Dennick, Pious Apparition.
A 2/3 body for two is already good enough, plus the bonus Lifelink which is a defensive stance against other aggro decks. Its passive ability protects your other Disturb creatures from graveyard hate and in turn, also stops reanimator shenanigans. The Disturbed version, Dennick, Pious Apparition, provides a late-game flyer, and also gas via the Investigate trigger. It gets 100% approval as to what aggressive creature decks need in the long game.
Reminding me of the Modern Humans deck, I am pretty sure this will get a slot in the build either in the sideboard or two copies in the main deck. This hates out Reanimator, Snapcaster Mage, Dreadhorde Arcanist, and other metagame cards that benefit from the graveyard.
Standard Humans or just purely Azorious aggro deck might have this in their lineup to fill the curve. Spirits tribal is also possible or a combination of the two creature type.
Thanks for reading and until the next Innistrad: Midnight Hunt blog post.
