Today’s Magic: the Gathering blog post features an interesting deck tech under the Pauper or All Commons format. The deck goes initially with a tribal creature approach but goes kaboom later on with the infinite mana combo. A combo deck in Pauper? Yes, definitely.
I found this decklist posted at the MTG Top 8 website on the Pauper format category of the recent tournament results posted, which I surprisingly found as a Combo deck. Upon checking the full list, it was setting up for a combo kill.
For a short overview, this deck focuses on combining Goblins and sacrifice effects to generate mana and card advantage. Sacrificing the Putrid Goblin on the mana-generator Skirk Prospector while the First Day of Class is still in effect, it will create a loop of sacrificing and bringing back Goblins and generate infinite mana. The deck will then find a way to search for the combo with card draw effects like the Deadly Dispute up until you cast the Makeshift Munitions and then fodder the sacrifice effect to deal enough damage to your opponent’s life total.
The deck tech video below explains the Rakdos Goblins combo deck further so do enjoy watching the video.
