Mono-White Yorion Combo in MTG AFR Standard

The current dreaded deck in the Adventures in the Forgotten Realms Standard metagame is the two-card combo that consists of the cards The Book of Exalted Deeds and Faceless Haven. What is the best deck to make this as consistent as possible? Make a Mono-white deck.

Check out the Mono-White Control decklist below (sourced from the MTG Top8 website Standard decks).

While in pre-boarded games it is hard to be dealt with, opponents would surely bring land destruction cards in the sideboard to stop this combo. Of course, the deck would not only rely on this but also have the usual victory route of out-grinding the opponent. Yorion does that very well along with the late game Emeria’s Call casting Angels to deal damage.

Will it rank among the top decks in the Adventures in the Forgotten Realms Standard metagame? We shall see as this weekend’s online events happen in MTGO and Magic Arena.

Until the next blog post.
