One of our regular MtG tournaments in the community is held every Wednesday night at Rei’s Place. The format adapted for the event is still Standard, though we are planning to have Modern in one of the future tournaments. Last night was another WNM session and 10 players went to play. Here are the top 4 players after 4 rounds of gameplay.
Top 4:
1st, Oliver (Azorius Devotion)
2nd, Emerson (Selesnya Aggro)
3rd, Franco (Devotion to Black)
4th, Mark Ian (Selesnya Aggro)
My record for the event was 2-1-1 wherein I lost my first round to the Selesnya mirror match. I was then lucky to win the next match against Maze’s End deck wherein I expected endless fog effect and mass removals for my creatures. Good thing he ran out in the first game and got mana color screwed in the second.
My next win was against my bane deck, Mono Blue Devotion. Lastly, I got paired with Oliver with his 3-0 record so we decided to draw the match for him to secure the top spot as well as for me to get in the top four.
That’s about it for this short tournament report. Hopefully the team’s winning streak continues on tomorrow’s FNM and on Saturday Standard.
Until the next post.
