I have been a fan of Starcraft since it the first was released about a decade ago, and even now after Starcraft II goes in the gaming scene. I play with friends at Masyong’s shop via Starfriend, at times when I got extra between work and playing Magic or building my Gunpla kits.
We slightly stopped when HOTS expansion was released and are still waiting for the update patch for the Starfriend software which we uses for LAN gaming (and because we can’t afford to buy the original one with the current internet connection scenario in the Philippines).
Anyhow, enough of those historical background of the game. I published this blog post because one of my favorite Terran pro players has just won the first season of the 2013 StarCraft II World Champion Series. He is Innovation (real name Lee Shin Hyung) from the team STX SouL. He defeated in the finals a formidable Protoss player sOs of the team Woongjin Stars.
It was not an easy matchup as both players had to undergo into the deciding Game 5 in the semis to get the shot to the final round. They faced GSL champions SoulKey (vs sOs) and MVP (vs Innovation). The finals proved the skill advantage of the Terran player against Protoss as it was a sweep 4-0.
Congratulations to INnoVation for winning the 2013 WCS Season 1!
