Continuing the quest for Standard deck updates post M15, our feature deck for today is one of my personal favorites though I just need to get more luck in order to have the best opening hand. The deck is Naya Auras and what does M15 has to offer for this archetype? Let us explore and discuss.
First off are the possible M15 cards to be utilized:
Heliod’s Pilgrim – the first card that I think will definitely get at least two slots in the deck. She can fetch you the right Aura needed for a certain situation, and did I mention that she can get Chained to the Rocks?
Battle Mastery – this Aura can be added as a one-of like occupying a fourth Boros Charm, though the latter is more flexible. Curving into this from a second turn Madcap Skills can be brutal.
Spectra Ward – this is another one-of Aura that can get you to win a stalled board state. This is like an upgraded version of a Bestowed Boon Satyr.
Brood Keeper – this Shaman can be a good inclusion if you want a version of Auras that plays in the late game. She’s very sensitive to removal though.
Inferno Fist – this would be good, due to the extra two damage to finish off opponents, but Madcap Skills is just better.
Vineweft – not much of a pump for this Aura, but can work for enchantment-hate matchups.
Battlefield Forge – the enemy painland reprint that can replace a few Temples, though I’d prefer Karplusan Forest instead because of the deck’s demand for Green mana.
Overall, M15 did not have the right cards to support the archetype; alas I have checked that they have printed more Enchantment removal like Back to Nature. Oh well, here is a post-M15 list if ever I am going to play the deck today.
