Post Zendikar Decks: The ‘Allies’

Happy Friday all. Its been a while since my last quality post because of a messed mind set. Maybe its an effect of the awesomeness of card previews this week which confused me on which one to write first. Anyway, I better do this first before I loss the momentum.

The next prediction I will make on the post Zendikar decks in Standard would be the new breed of a tribe deck or rather a creature sub class. Yes, I’m talking about Zendikar’s Ally creatures. Since Zendikar’s theme focused on treasures, quests, and traps, these class of citizens in Zendikar adds up as an ally or allies to help in your adventures and achieving them.  Lets take a look at a few Ally class creatures spoiled so far. Post Zendikar Decks: Naya Aggro

The Standard rotation is drawing near. We will be saying goodbye to our Lorwyn tribe buddies, specifically the aggressive kithkins, the gentle Treefolks, the fiery Elementals, the Elves and the ever hated tribe that ruled most of the Standard, the Faeries. Most will probably stick with the decks from the Shards block or try the mono color theme Zendikar offers. Continue reading

That deck featured powerful Goblin cards, a couple of burn spells, and fueled late game with the insane artifact named Cursed Scroll. I’m sure you’ll remember this particular Goblin which was also popular in Legacy and was even banned at one time. Yep, I’m talking about this card: Continue reading

The final piece of the puzzle which is the second ability was revealed at the official Magic site today. It states, “-3 (Pay three loyalty): Target Opponent’s life total becomes 10.” Its a pretty awesome ability that negates whatever the life the opponent has whether its 40, 400 or even 4,000,000 (which is possible for combo decks).
