
As the Standard decks continue to evolve in the metagame, it’s normal that we look at a few archetypes before Dark Ascension entered the format. One, in particular, is the Esper Control archetype. I remembered that this was one of the favorite decks from last World’s championships and from Iloilo Champs 2011 & I think that this still has potential and needs a little tweaking.

In preparation for the Grand Prix KL this March and the Dark Ascension Game Day this coming Saturday, we had been doing daily playtests (about three to four hours) after work. Also to gain knowledge of the possible matchups and game plays, I’ve decided to take down some notes on each of the game results.
It seems that there is still hope in piloting Zoo for Modern. In the recent GP Lincoln, Player of the Year and Team Fireball member, Owen Turtenwald completed Day 1 piloting a Zoo deck with an untarnished record of 9-0.
