I am going to admit my bias: Vampires is my favorite tribe in Innistrad. Since the first version of the set was released, I get to admire these blood-sucking night creatures in a way that I made my first significant-finish in my Magic: the Gathering tournament career and gaining my first professional point. That was back in Grand Prix: Singapore event last June 2011 and was also my first Grand Prix joined. I finished in 54th place.
Anywho, I am hoping for a comeback build of this tribal archetype in the coming release of Innistrad: Midnight Hunt. I will not expect the same power level as the deck I used in the Grand Prix, but having a similar strategy is already a good indication that the deck can cope with the Standard metagame.
Since the complete Innistrad: Midnight Hunt card image gallery is out, I decided to sort out and list all possible card component choices for the deck based on their usability, and here they are below.
Most of these Vampires from the new set have only two or three notables on the power level, while the rest might be added just to fill the creature curve and that the tribal value shall be sufficient enough.
Wrapping up for the first draft version of the Rakdos Vampires deck, here it is below.
*an updated decklist will follow once more effective card combinations are identified.
Most of the creature choices comply with the Vampires as its type, and also considering the mana-cost and utility value. You might have other card suggestions to this list so feel free to comment them down below.
That is about it for this Innistrad: Midnight Hunt Rakdos Vampires initial build, until the next blog post.
