It was a big surprise but it was inevitable. The Meathook Massacre has been banned in Standard in the latest Magic: the Gathering B&R announcement and has left a relevant hole in the deck builds of the current top-tier midrange decks in the format. MTG Arena Playtesting Standard Domain Control Deck Ranked Matches Part 1
The playtest sessions on Magic: the Gathering Arena really help in checking the metagame in Standard, Pioneer, and other formats. The actual deck gameplay testing is very much different than just being familiar with the Top decks built such as Esper Midrange, Grixis, and Mono-Black Midrange. This was personally tuned by Master Oliver along with the sideboard adjusted to the current metagame, and with reference to the latest tournament results on MTG Arena.
