Magic 2012 Singles Price Check

With the release of Magic 2012 in the market this weekend, a lot of preordered singles has been quoted with the expected value. Mythics, specifically Planeswalkers, are expected are pricey value, though I think its too overpriced. We can’t blame the popular card stores for giving the high price, but I expect a decline on the value after two weeks or so. Magic 2012 is good coreset, but it can’t surpass what Magic 2011 has brought to Standard. Continue reading

Instill Infection: A Quick Look at Mono Black Infect

A Quick Decklist for the Day

I had been pondering a build for the big Red Metalcraft-based deck for Standard. We were able to purchase a set of Kuldotha Phoenix in Singapore, so my intentions on brainstorming the list arisen again. The deck’s basic strategy is to ramp up with “stones” (chalices and sun spheres) to cast the big spells while building up Metalcraft. Continue reading

Variations of the Deceiver Twin Combo

With the arrival of New Phyrexia, a new combo emerged in Standard. The phyrexian Deceiver Exarch, along with the aura Splinter Twin completes the combo kill. Before, this was an archetype in Extended, which uses Pestermite as one of the combo piece. The current one is a bit tougher to kill. Out of Lightning bolt range with the 4 toughness, opponents must rely on heavy spot removal to deal with the combo. Continue reading
