Just hours ago, we were able to hold our Prerelease tournament for the new set, Innistrad. Twenty Ilonggo players battled through the four rounds of Limited Sealed tournament, exploring the new set’s mechanics and flavor theme. With the scheduled rotation in Standard, I was pretty sure that all of us were very excited to play the new cards. The traditional six booster packs were provided to each player to build on the decks. Here’s a recap of what I got with my packs. Continue reading

The Singapore Trip In Pictures

My first travel abroad was quite memorable and awesome. The city we visited was Singapore. This was on the first week of June 2011. The main purpose was of course Magic related; to attending the Magic: the Gathering Grand Prix. My first GP actually, after failing to attend in Manila last year. The tournament report would be best in detail in another article, so this post is all about the pics I took during the trip.

Last weekend was a really busy one for Magic communities around the globe. Jund Domination in SCG $5K Richmond, Virginia
Jund does it again! Yes, folks, the Shards of Alara plane continues to dominate the Standard metagame with the recent top finish at Star City Games $5000 Open event in Richmond, Virginia. The pilot was Alex Bertoncini who had previous top finishes in the previous SCG events. He faced a Jund mirror matchup in the finals against Alessandro Culotti and proved he is the better Jund master. Here’s the list that he used:
