MTG Tournament Report: Playing The Core (Set)

Yesterday was a fun-filled Magic2010 Coreset Prerelease for us here in Magic: the Gathering Iloilo community. Although the participants were lessened to 18 players, it was still an enjoyment for us to open those M10 packs and the excitement of getting the chased rares. Too bad for me as none of my starting six booster packs have the rares that I wanted. The good thing though is that the deck has a lot of limited bombs.

Magic: the Gathering Tournament Report: Alara Reborn (Pre)Release

Hey guys. Just to keep back on track with updates, I decided to share with you my experience on our local Alara Reborn Prerelease last Saturday. You might be asking why it’s a prerelease since the scheduled date was April 25. It’s because the product shipment was held by the Bureau of Customs. The other builds are basically metagame-based so I used that as a reference to come up with my list. Here’s the decklist I’ve piloted:

Five Things Newbies Should Remember When Joining a Magic Tournament

Hey peeps. This topic came up in my mind and decided to write about it because I’ve noticed in our area that there are a lot of new Magic players who are afraid of joining our weekly tournaments. Yeah, I know they are still new to the game. I’ve been there too. That’s why maybe they’re afraid of losing or committing mistakes or something like that.

Here are the five things or reminders I came up with that I think can clarify to the newbies, or what we call in gaming terms as noob, why they shouldn’t be afraid.
